New Machine

Post by deesnider » Thu Sep 06, 2012 5:17 am

I picked up my new machine last night. I got myself a Resmed S9 Autoset. I had to fight the DME and finely came down to talking to the Dr and getting a very specific perscription. the supplier wasnt to happy but I am . Last night was my fist night with it in auto mode. Was very different. In cpap I was at 13 cm H2O now im at 9-14 cm H2O. I am unfamilliar how to look at the nightly data on the machine like I could on the S8.

Hold down both rectanular buttons for a few seconds and it will give you an extra menu option.

Does it show you the AHI in the normal display? If not, press the setup and round button for a few seconds, find the option called something like sleep report and turn it on.

Good luck with your new machine.

Sleep Quality has to be turned to the ON position...factory default is for "usage" which is just compliance hours.....for the detailed data to be gathered you have to change Sleep Quality to show "ON". This is in the clinical setup menu.
Here are step by step instructions with some good pictures on how to get to the clinical setup area.

Here you can request a copy of the provider manual http://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p ... tup-manual if you don't have one.

Ive got things figured out now. I have to say I wanted to try and adjust the Humidifier last night and all it gave me was a tempature option. Im so used to 0-6 not a tempature . So far It looks like i need to work on Leaks. As much as I like the Swift II I may return the mask. My leak rate was 30 last night and 28 the night before. (I think thats right.) If I cant control the leakes in the next day or so, im going back to my favorite mask by far the Liberty mask.

I plan to get sleepy head installed this weekend and make another post with that data.

It is set for "automatic" in the clinical menu. There is a way to change it so you can have both temperature and humidity control choices separate if you want to. You have to turn it from "automatic" to patient I think it is.
I like lots of humidity and used automatic till summer heat set in and I felt that the air was a bit too warm so I changed it so I could set the temp lower but humidity level higher..so I get a bit cooler air but still get the humidity I like.
Though if you are happy with the automatic and temp only settings there is no critical need to alter it.
