Last Week Of Free CPAPtalk.com DVDs

Post by forumadmin » Fri Apr 14, 2006 3:07 pm

Howdy,

My apartment was recently broken into and the machine used to create the free "Introduction To The Sleep Lab" DVDs we ship to new users through cpaptalk.com was stolen.

I'm sure the person who stole and pawned it did not stop and consider that the machine was being used to give thousands of people the confidence to go in and get a life saving sleep study. I often wonder if his own mother or father has sleep apnea. If so, he could really be stepping into a vicious karma cycle...I digress.

The bottom line is that I'm now forced to change how we distribute these DVDs. I have some goals:

#1. I want to make back the cost of the machine (they run around $1000 bucks). Also, the DVDs and ink get pricey as well when purchased by the thousand.

#2. I want to make money to produce a general introduction to Sleep Apnea and CPAP video.

#3. I want to sell things through cpaptalk that "come out" of this community where it is financially viable for me to do so. It may not be a big quantity or make anyone rich, but it would be quite statement to see Mike Moran's new book sold along side the big boy's products.

Here is what I plan to do:

#1. We are no longer shipping cpaptalk.com DVDs for free outside of American effective today. We have a very low stock of these left and they will be used to test the "pay for DVD" market.

#2. At the end of the week, we will no longer ship cpaptalk.com DVDs free of charge. These free shipments are already delayed and may be delayed further.

#3. I'm going to create a Media category on cpap.com which will vend these DVDs at a reasonable price. Again, if you have requested a free DVD before the deadline and live in america, you will receive it at a reasonable price of $0, as we will honor our current agreement.

#4. If we sell a good volume of DVDs, I may consider putting all of the cpap.com videos in a DVD set and vending that for a reasonable price.

#5. I hope to add items into this category as good ideas from the board turn into good products.

Comments welcome.

Johnny
