So, my DME gave me a heated tube humidifier but it wasn't working. Finally I figured out they hadn't given me the correct 80 watt power supply when they gave me the humidifier, I had a 60 watt supply.
I called them and explained they needed to swap out the power supply for the correct one, and they insisted for quite a while that I was wrong, because there was only one power supply for that unit. Ummmmm... Eventually they admitted I was right and made the appt to give me the right one.
It is kind of funny and kind of scary that a newbie like myself knows more about my cpap unit than my DME...

I see you are in the Seattle area. If you decide later to change DMEs, I recommend the one associated with St. Francis hospital in Federal Way. That is where I switched to. And my doctor is there too. Really nice, has sleep apnea himself, so he understand what it is like to use a machine. And he is totally fine with me checking my own data, asking questions, and actively participating in my treatment. His name is David Brown. He is my mom's doctor now too. She didn't qualify for a new sleeo study since Medicare paid for one 2 years ago (she really didn't like that doctor, and felt no improvement). Dr. Brown reviewed the data from the old sleep study and 2 partial nights with my machine (one set her prescription of 10, and one set at 10-13). He prescribed an automatic machine at 10-15, and she is doing better now. He only prescribes machines with full data.
