Need to get EncorePro 1.5 (Own 1.4)

Hi,
I purchased Encore Pro 1.4 and the smart card reader kit from a reseller about two years ago, and would love to be able to run "MyEncore" free software. Unfortunately, it appears that MyEncore requires v. 1.5 of Encore Pro. I know at one time I could have downloaded it no charge from Respironics (free upgrade), but apparently they have stopped giving "free" downloads "EXCEPT" for health care providers. Does anyone know a way I could get the 1.5 upgrade? I paid for it once ($199 for 1.4 kit), and have no real desire to buy it twice. Suggestions appreciated. Respironics has not been forthcoming when I wrote their support and asked for help (they simply said that their current policy provides free upgrades for health care professionals only).

If you have Encore Pro version 1.4, go to this link and the MyEncore version 1.4 link is in there (do a "page down" about 5 times).
They're the same versions that I use.....no problems with my install or running them.

I think the response that Respironics gave you "sucks", no pun intended!!!!

You're right, their response was 'frustrating' to be mild. I appreciate the fact that they are in business to make money, and in fact, I offered to pay an upgrade fee (I suggested $50) to move up to 1.6i. No response. MyEncore is not working with my 1.4 EncorePro database, it keeps giving error codes.

I have asked and asked Respironics to allow me to upgrade at least to version 1.5 from 1.4 of encore pro. The latest response from their support is that "because Encore Pro can change the pressure settings of the cpap machine, the FDA prohibits Respironics from giving it to 'civilians' (my word)"

Jeeze louise. And here I thought you changed the pressure settings by holding the arrow buttons down while simultaneously plugging in the unit.

If you don't have a Respironics Bi-PAP, version 1.5 won't do any more for you then 1.4 did. And, if you don't have a new "M Series" machine, version 1.6 won't do any more for you than 1.4 did.

Lets try to start from "square one".
The following are links to Derek's website for MyEncore.
If you haven't been there before, I recommend that you go to the site and read as much as possible. Then download the 1.04 version listed in the second link. Then, you should uninstall the one that's on your computer now and install the version you downloaded. (even if it's the same one)
Then.....see what happens......

If you don't have version 1.5 of Encore Pro, you can't use Derek's 1.5B7 version of MyEncore. They're not compatible.

Is MyEncore 1.5 'a lot better' (more comprehesive) than 1.4? I am especially interested in seeing if I am in REM sleep or not.

Please re-read my post at 9:11 am.

Encore Pro 1.5 was written for the newer Respironics Bi-PAP machines.
MyEncore 1.5B7 was written to be able to work with this version of Encore Pro.

Encore Pro 1.6 was written for the brand new "Series M" machines.
I THINK MyEncore 1.5B7 works with this version.

From my understanding of what Derek told us (and is verified by all the problems people have had with mixing different versions), when Respironics came out with the 1.5 version of Encore Pro, they made some changes in the file structure, security passwords and other things that required changes in MyEncore so it would work. Otherwise, there is NO "more comprehensive" information being reported by EITHER MyEncore OR Encore Pro.

From my VERY limited knowledge of this subject, I believe the only ways of determining whether you're experiencing REM sleep is either to remember some of your dreams (or realize that you had been dreaming in your sleep) or to have a (or another) sleep study done. All those wires attached to your body (and head) during the sleep study helps them determine whether you experienced REM sleep

I have Encore Plus version 1.6.22 and My Encore version 1.5b7 appears to work fine. I have the Remstar Pro so not all the reports are available, requiring a APAP. I hope to convert over the the Remstar Auto soon~!
