Dori's Duck is greatful!!!!

Post by Ducky7007 » Tue Jul 31, 2012 1:36 pm

I was diagnosed with sever sleep apnea at least 6 years ago. I got a machine in the mail from the ins company & tried it a few times. I HATED it. After about a week it was in the closet never to be used again. I thought that the break up of my engagement, losing my job and having to move in with my parents at 40 something was the worst thing ever. Turns out it was the best thing that could have happen to me! Because that's when I meet Dori & her wonderful husband Mike. She is saving my life with 1 of Mikes old c pap machines. She looked at my report that I had from the Dr. and she set the machine up for me. A few days later I was feeling better, I brought her the card from the c pap so we could look at how I was doing. That's when she told me I was a "Duck"! I only wish there were more people in the world like her & Mike. THANK YOU SO MUCH DORI!!!!!

Is Ducky Mike's nurse? We heard about you, and have been 'rooting' for you!
Great to hear from you! Wonderful what you've done for Mike and Dori!

I found this from a previous thread:
Pugsy wrote: We have to host them on a website and link to them.
I use screen shots and Photobucket because I found it super easy but other use different methods.

This is my standard "how to post images of reports" speech.

Open the image to full size so it is easily read.
I use Vista snipping tool to create a screen shot and crop the image at the same time.
Prt/scr key will also take a screen shot if using XP. If laptop is used sometimes the Fn key has to be pushed at the same time as the prt/scr key
I think windows 7 Home Premium has the snipping tool, Basic may not.

Once the screen shot is created save it in jpg format.
Upload the image to a host site. I use Photobucket it is free, there are others.
Once the image is uploaded then copy the ENTIRE IMG address. Be sure to include the opening and closing IMG in brackets. Paste that copied address into a post here.
Use the preview button. If you can't see the image try again because if you can't see it we can't.

DD has become a family member so no wonder she's also full of surprises here! Her reports are outstanding, AHI <1.0, no leaks with her Quattro FX, setting at 9-13 on our M Series, 90% never above 10! I can tell immediately on those mornings when she's been somewhat non-compliant but it's not very often and she's very aware of it herself. She's in for it tomorrow! Thanks so much for the nice responses.

Ducky -- I can already picture it in my mind -- You see our youngest son goes by Ducky. He got the nickname when you was a baby and his older sister was less than 2 and would call him her "Ducky". Actually his name is Dusty, but she simply couldn't get the "st" out and it sounded like "ducky".

A cute story for you. He was about 2 or 3 and we were at our state fair. We were in the conservation pavillion looking at the various animals/fish. He climbed out of his stroller and I hollered out "Here Ducky". I soon had several children come over to ask to see my "duck" (assuming it was the waddling kind). To make a long story short Duck had ran over to his dad that was across the aisle so was found very quickly. We remind him of this story often. LOL

I am so very glad that Dori has you to help with Mike. It seems like it is a good thing you have Dori to help you with your treatment. Isn't it amazing how God puts people in our path? I hope that this friendship/work arrangement works for as long as needed and beyond.

Ducky, welcome sugar. I've only been here a week myself. I'm new to the CPAP world, this is only my third week on it. Now, with that said, let me help you not feel so alone. I'm 41, homeless as of Tuesday and living in my boyfriends guest bedroom (I snore and he's a very light sleeper with a high stress job) until I can find a job (the design studio I worked at went under)... I've lived apart from my husband for years, but we're finally going through with the divorce. (he's in Wisconsin if it matters) That means my insurance will dry up here in another month. I just wanted to extend a hand from someone going through what you are. It helps somehow to know that as bad as things are, you aren't alone. It sounds like you have a solid safety net, so that is wonderful! YAY!!! I hope you adapt better than I have so far. You sound like a fighter yourself, so I know you'll do great! <hugs>
