NewBee - Need help with DS650HS and SleepyHead
Hi you'all!
Got my first CPAP yesterday (Phillips DS650HS w/ Quattro Fx Full). Last night was "different".
Being a geek, I was overjoyed when I found the "Provider Guide" was included in the bag! Before turning the unit on, I copied the SD card to my PC. The first thing I noticed was that the DATE/TIME stamp on the files was/is wrong. The time on the files is +4 hours.
QUESTION #1 - How do I change the DATE/TIME within the DS650HS? (I couldn't find anything in the settings)
SleepyHead: Downloaded and installed the software. Set up a profile. Ran the software and it found the 650's data file and correctly imported its serial number.
However, there is NO DATA! I have uninstalled, reinstalled, run as ADMIN, imported from backup disk-copy, and directly from the SD Card. NO Data. There are 16 files. (My untreated AHI=63, the last file from this morning is 120k) Win 7 Home Premium.
QUESTION #2 - How do I get SleepyHead software to work?
Quattro Fx - FullFace mask: O.K., I have a BIG head. The straps started out full-extended. If they went farther, I'd loosen the top straps. While on my back, everything was ok, no leaks. After a few hours, I was on my side and leaking so I tightened one of the lower straps - no leak - back to sleep. Later - other side - leak - tightend that side strap - back to sleep. I have to say it wasn't uncomfortable - time will tell. But I've been up for almost 3 hours and I still have strap marks. - ?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: NewBee - Need help with DS650HS and SleepyHead
We can't change the time on the PR S1 machines. It is set to GMT time at the factory and we don't have access to the inner workings of the machine to alter the time. Instead we use software and the computer clock to make the adjustments so the reports will show corrected times..
You should be able to use SH with the 650.
Could you please look on the top of your machine and report all the words you see?
The machine you have chosen in your profile is not correct. In the equipment menu look for the PR System One Remstar......grouping of machines to find yours. It should be a PR System One Remstar BiPap Pro with BiFlex.
What does SleepyHead tell you? Does it offer any information at all or does it just say no data could be found?
Are you directing SH to the P series folder or just the drive letter where the SD sits?
If you are directing to the P Series folder or further then you have gone too far. Needs to be only the drive letter showing as the folder to choose. It is done this way so that importing can be done from other areas and even other brands of machines.
If still no joy let me know and I can get you Encore software that will work with the machine.
Do you have a Mac? If so then you would need a Windows based environment on the Mac to use Encore since it is totally a Windows based software.

Yes it does.greatunclebill wrote:sleepyhead does not work with the 600 series yet.
You are thinking 60 series with the heated hose.
SH works fine with the 650 and 750 machines (I have used both with SH). I think that there are now 60 series machines in the BiPap model line (I would assume 660 and 760 model numbers) and maybe OP has a 660 and it wouldn't work.

Re: NewBee - Need help with DS650HS and SleepyHead
I did the same thing initially and had it all typed out with my usual EncoreBasic speech before I realized that it was the 650 that was mentioned.greatunclebill wrote:you're right. i was reading 650 and thinking 560.
Respironics used to make a BiPap Plus (brick) but I haven't seen on in the PR S1 line. Can't find a model number for it and can't find it on a web search so I assume that they didn't go the brick road with the BiPap model line.
The heated hose 60 series in the BiPap line was just announced as being released (like this past week) and it is unlikely that they are on the shelves yet for supplying to patients.
If SH doesn't work for this OP (the root drive letter thing is the most common error) then maybe just a quirk in the machine.
SH sometimes doesn't work with models that it should work with and then I will get EncoreBasic to the OP. Not long ago a PR S1 BiPap ST user couldn't get SH to work with their machine and I know for a fact that it should and he was doing the root drive letter thing correctly...so just maybe a quirk with that particular machine or maybe a minor change in the internal firmware is causing a problem.

Re: NewBee - Need help with DS650HS and SleepyHead
Well, as I said..... I "used to be" a rocket scientist.....
Why do the models, model numbers, and names have to be so confusing?
PR System One REMstar AUTO 560 Auto-CPAP Machine Package with A-Flex - is the machine I have - Its a DS560HS , not a 650 - My mistake.
So I came down to my office PC (Win 7 Ultimate) and installed SleepyHead afresh. And imported from my "O:" SD drive. SH correctly got the serial #, and the model: "System One RemStar Auto with A-Flex (560P)"
...but, "No CPAP Machine Data Imported"
I apologize to all who answered re: 650 version - mine is definitely a 560.
...and I still need help...

Re: NewBee - Need help with DS650HS and SleepyHead
Give me a couple of minutes to compose a private message and we will get you some software that will work with your machine.
SleepyHead was written before the release of the new 60 series machines so it is not yet compatible because they changed the file structure and format. The guy that wrote SH had to take some family time and just recently started back on working making SH compatible with the new 60 series machines so a bit later we will be able to use SH with the new machines.
In the meantime you can use EncoreBasic. Not as cool as SH but at least all the data that the machine provides.

i don't know why they can't give everything a model number or simple unique name. it is confusing to everybody with the long names, plus, pro, flex, etc and model numbers so close to each other.PajamaGuy wrote: Why do the models, model numbers, and names have to be so confusing?

No imagination.. or maybe confusing on purpose...but they have always done it this way.PajamaGuy wrote: Why do the models, model numbers, and names have to be so confusing?

I am going with Pugsy's idea of intentionally confusing to make it hard for customers to compare apples to apples, but at least it is not as confusing as bed manufacturer product lines. The exact same bad will be called something different depending on where you buy it from, and it is an intentionally marketing ploy to keep the consumer from being able compare prices. CPAP has not gone that far yet, but they have so many similar names with wildly different features that you have to wonder what they are trying to accomplish.
Re: NewBee - Need help with DS650HS and SleepyHead
I have more problems with the PR machines. The ResMed uses one machine type with three (or more) models Escape, Elite and AutoSet. seems more simple, then again I am not the sharpest tack in the box.greatunclebill wrote:i don't know why they can't give everything a model number or simple unique name. it is confusing to everybody with the long names, plus, pro, flex, etc and model numbers so close to each other.PajamaGuy wrote: Why do the models, model numbers, and names have to be so confusing?

Re: NewBee - Need help with DS650HS and SleepyHead
The DS650 in the PR System One is the System One BiPAP Pro with Bi-Flex. It's the "fixed" pressure bi-level. It does record full efficacy data.greatunclebill wrote:you're right. i was reading 650 and thinking 560.
Since PajamaGuy, the OP wrote:
I am wondering if he made a typo on the model number since he describes the machine as a CPAP, and the DS560 is a CPAP, while the DS650 is a BiPAP.PajamaGuy wrote:Got my first CPAP yesterday (Phillips DS650HS w/ Quattro Fx Full). Last night was "different".
So to PajamaGuy, which of these looks more like your machine.
Does it have a cream-colored panel around the LCD like this:
Or does it have a dark gray panel around the LCD like this:
If the panel is cream-colored, you've got a Series 50 machine and SleepyHead should work. If the panel is dark gray, you've got a Series 60 machine and SlepyHead won't work (yet).
Just so there's a record somewhere, here are the 50-series models that I can find:
- DS 150. The sub-brick. This one doesn't even have a name. It doesn't have C-Flex either.
- DS 250. The System One REMstar Plus with C-flex. The standard brick.
- DS 450. The System One REMstar Pro with C-Flex Plus. The full efficacy data fixed pressure machine.
- DS 450AutoIQ. The System One REMstar Pro with AutoIQ. The "fake" APAP, but at least it records full efficacy data.
- DS 550. The System One REMstar APAP with A-Flex.
- DS 650. The System One REMstar BiPAP Pro with Bi-Flex. The fixed pressure bi-level machine.
- DS 750. The System One REMstar BiPAP Auto with Bi-Flex. The auto adjusting bi-level machine.
- Model # ???. The PR System One REMstar BiPAP ST Machine. I can't find its model number.
- Model # ??? The PR System One REMstar BiPAP AVAPS Machine

So far, the following machines have been added to the Series 60 line:
- DS 260. The System One REMstar Plus with C-flex. The standard brick.
- DS 460. The System One REMstar Pro with C-Flex Plus. The full efficacy data fixed pressure machine.
- DS 560. The System One REMstar APAP with A-Flex.
- DS 660. The System One REMstar BiPAP Pro with Bi-Flex. The fixed pressure bi-level machine.
- DS 760. The System One REMstar BiPAP Auto with Bi-Flex. The auto adjusting bi-level machine.

I think I'll update that link in my signature about PR's names NOW rather than later. This latest round of names wouldn'y be so bad---if the Series 60 machines were compatible with SleepyHead and Encore Viewer.Pugsy wrote:No imagination.. or maybe confusing on purpose...but they have always done it this way.PajamaGuy wrote: Why do the models, model numbers, and names have to be so confusing?

Re: NewBee - Need help with DS650HS and SleepyHead
OP has a PR S1 560 machine and now has software to view his data.
Now is in the process of learning what all it means. The fun part begins.
