The only data you,ll ever get out of the S9 Escape is compliance data - Hours used and nothing elsemayur wrote: can you please list the difference.

If your doctor wants data your machine will not generate; he needs to make sure you can exchange for a machine that will.
30 days maximum. If they mis-filled the original RX, there is hope, depending on how quickly you act and how insistent you and your doctor are.

You want to have the s9 Elite or s9 Autoset if you want full data capable machines. The former is a CPAP machine the later is an auto adjusting CPAP (sometimes called an APAP). Sorry to say you have a brick. As someone pointed out, yours only stores hours of use.

And just to be confusing there is both an "S9 Escape", which is the really barebones model (just a regular CPAP) and a "S9 Escape Auto" which is an auto-titrating machine, but still only provides compliance data.
When I went to the DME on Friday, they tried to pass off the S9 Escape Auto as having full data capability, I refused the unit and they agreed to order the S9 Autoset instead. But now I have to wait another week or so for it to come in.
Thank goodness I had spent the last 2 weeks reading some of the threads here at CPAPTalk and was an informed patient.

what is the difference between the data they provide please specify
Re: difference b/w resmed s9 escape and s9 autoset sleep report
Escape - only compliance..days and time used
Autoset - how many apneas you have in the night (ahi), leak rate, flow, pressures used
The autoset data is what you need to tell how your therapy is doing which is excellent to have, the escape only tells usage (time).... crap.

Re: difference b/w resmed s9 escape and s9 autoset sleep report
Compliance data on the Escapes is just how many hours the machine was used. Useful only for insurance coverage. You can look at the clock to figure that out.
The S9 sutoset shows the pressure variation (important if you have a range on apap), the flow rate, leaks, when the events occur, a meaure of flow limitation (I assume that is how much the throat is closed) and respiration data. On the sleepyhead softward you can see the inhalation, exhalation, the total volume of air moving in and out, and the rate per minute. Both give you statistics as well, such as the 95% leak and pressure level. All but 5% of the pressures/leaks through the night are below that level. (To eliminate extremes, such as leaks when adjusting the mask.) i pretty much ignore the respiration data, but the leaks are important to monitor how well the mask is working and I'm checking the pressures and AHI to see if my range is adequate to catch the apneas.
Hope this helps. I'm sure others can give you more details if you need them.

The AutoSet will record:
A good data capable CPAP machine is like a heart patient being in the hospital with a recording EKG hooked up all the time. A compliance only CPAP is like a heart patient being in the hospital and only recording whether the bed is occupied or not.
- Every apnea you have during the night.
- How long the apnea lasted.
- Whether it thinks it was a "central" apnea, which may require a different kind of CPAP machine.
- A graph (like an EKG) of every breath you take during the night. You can see the actual waveform of the airflow. A good doctor or therapist can tell a lot more about your apnea with this graph.
- The pressure at the mask.
- An indication of when you are snoring.
- Flow limitations, which means you're breathing but breathing with difficulty.
- "Minute ventilation", which is a measure of how much air you've breathed during a one minute period.
- A leak rate, which can tell you the air is leaking around the mask, or you have your mouth open and are losing your therapy pressure.

On a different analogy; a diabetic would NEVER inject herself with insulin without knowing how much she needs.
Why force air into your windpipe without knowing how much is needed or even how much can make it inside?
