However, to prevent sleeplessness, I found that physical exercise during the day is the best way to ensure that I sleep well at night. So I make sure I walk for 45 minutes or so at lunch or after work. That does the trick for me.
This works for me and if it is an option for you, try it.

File this under the 'If it's stupid but it works, it ain't stupid' category:

Get a plain utility spray bottle or empty lotion or hand soap squirter bottle. Mix up a 50:50 solution of distilled water and Epsom Salts into it and put it in the shower. Before you go to bed, or if you wake up early and can't fall back asleep, spray your feet with the solution and rub it in. You'll be asleep in 20 - 30 minutes. If you really need to conk out, spray your calves and shins too.

Works great for nighttime headaches and other aches and pains. It's called 'Mag Oil' because it has a slightly oily feel, but it isn't oily. The magnesium relaxes the nervous system and muscles. Try it. It's OTC, costs next to nothing and works like a charm. No hangover.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Anyone notice that as newlyweds, we tend to sleep exceptionally well on 'the night(s)'.

Gator Lord,

This definitely doesn't sound stupid since people have reported on another board I visit that taking a bath with Epsom salts helps with sleep.

I will definitely give this a try if I need to. Thanks for the suggestion.

@ChunkyFrog - You're right about that!

@GatorLord - I'm going to try your suggestion. If this works like you say, you'll get the golden star award.
