I really hate ResScan Software

Post by policebox » Thu Jul 05, 2012 7:21 pm

Well, ResScan just ate my homework.

This software has perpetually given me blue screens of death through two different versions. After my latest attempt to upload my SD Card data into the software, it gave me three blue screens during the download process.

Now ResScan doesn't even pull up my patient data at all. The files still exist in their folder, but when I go to File>Open or Tools > Patient Manager, it no longer "sees" my data. Also, according to the help files, there should be an Import feature under File > Import; however, this seems to have been removed in both versions 3.16SP1 and 4.01.

This is a really shite piece of software.

Here's a screenshot of Patient Manager and the directory where my data files are kept. As you can see, ResScan is set to "look" in the default folder for patient data files, yet the folder containing my data isn't showing up on the Patient List.

I been using ResScan 3.16, almost daily, for more than a year, and never saw the above windows.

I see only this:

Windows 7, could be 32 or 64

Tried 4.1 but don't see much difference

What does the SP stand for after 3.16? Mine says 3.16 without it, and I have not had any problems like that. On rare occasions, it stalls while downloading, but I just hit cancel and download again, and it works fine after that. I have not lost any data or had any blue screens of death.

What operating system are you using? Perhaps there is a clash between the two programs? I am using Vista with mine.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Sorry, I meant SP1. I corrected that in the OP. However, I'm currently using version 4.01. I tried to briefly reinstall version 3.16SP1 to see if it would "see" my data, but that didn't work. So, I'm back to version 4.01 and the original problem as described. I use Windows 7, 64-bit.

If you go under Tools > Patient Manager it will open the window in the screenshot. Under Default it probably lists 1 patient for you and then lists your name in the window below. The purpose of my screenshot was to show that, despite there being patient data under my name in the appropriate windows folder, ResScan isn't "seeing" that data, despite it being there.

The only thing changing between the last time I used it and today was the fact that it blue screened my computer 3 times, which isn't unusual, but it's never caused ResScan to become amnesiac before.

May be the height in New Mexico plateau effecting your ResScan -:)

My is at 32 bits.

When you going to change to S9 Autoset?

I have an S9 Elite also under Medicare rental, but I paid $830 for the APAP flow generator only, at my DME.

The APAP is giving me an unbelievable good treatment, which was not the case with the Elite.

Um... okay....

So the bottom line is this. How do I get all the *.rlk files, Notes.db, PatientDetails.db, and Summary.dat files in my data directory to get recognized by the ResScan software again?

Let's forget that for me the software is buggy and crashes. This is essentially a "how do I transfer old data files into ResScan" question.

Can anyone offer some suggestions along those lines?

Have you tried backing up your data files, just make a copy on your desktop, and recreating yourself as a patient? I'm assuming the data is in the folder you show.

Sorry, I am not a computer geek.

Your best bet is to change the heading of the thread.

Change heading of conversation to:

Help Locating Files of ResScan

Or start a new conversation tomorrow morning.

I just hate my CCRAP machine. I don't care what trade name it goes by, these machines are such a waste of time and money. I have fought with my CCRAP machine since February. It is now mid-July, and I have decided that I would rather be dead than try to use these silly machines.

I have lower back and leg injuries from a work accident, and I only can sleep on my side. I must keep moving around at night or I have pain and muscle cramping. CCRAP machines don't move well. CCRAP also causes big red marks on my face, headaches so bad that I have to stop working and lie down, constant sneezing, nosebleeds, sinus and nasal congestion, and I have to sleep alone. I have thrown the machine in my sleep and have hit the wall and the floor. My neighbors must love me with all that racket going on at night.

I became so frustrated with my CCRAP machine today that I decided that I was at least going to have the satisfaction of beating on it for a while. Guess what?? I small plastic zip-lock bag with little white plastic parts fell out of the hose that goes by your nose! no wonder i couldn't ever breathe!!!!

WOuldn't you think that the people who put you CCRAP together would notice? I never thought to look! I am a new... and a FORMER CCRAP user.

I GIVE UP!!

Glad you found a place to rant.
There is a difference between understanding and accepting your need for the machine, and just being pissy about it.
If you come to terms with your need for it, we will be here to help.
Best of luck to you.

Do you mean that this plastic baggie was stuffed inside your hose the whole time you were trying to use it? That would certainly explain why you were struggling so much. Not that is removed, why not give it a second chance to actually do what it was supposed to? I know it is frustrating to realize all that time was wasted by some idiot somewhere putting that stupid baggie in there. But at least you know now what was wrong.

You found this forum, so give us a chance. I am a relative newbie, and this forum has helped me immensely.
