First, thank all of you so much who responded to my other ComfortLite2 post. It sounds like most of you are reasonalbly pleased with this mask with a little tweaking. But I have another question. How do you know which sizes to order? I don't think I'm interested in the direct seal, but am not sure what size to go with on the simple cushion and the pillows cushion. I think my nose is pretty average!
Also, can someone elaborate on the panty hose fix (better describe what you are doing) and does anyone know why cpap.com doesn't carry any parts for this interface system?
This may sound crazy, but I was also wondering -- if you can get a good, comfortable, non-slipping fit using the two lowest headstrap connecting points on the headgear (or whatever they call that think against your forehead), do you suppose you could run the ends of a chin strap through the highest slots on the headgear? If you can, it looks like it would give the up and down direction they say is best for chin straps to keep from pulling the jaw back instead of up.
That's all the Q's for now, but I'm sure I'll think of something else later!

Hose hose head here
This is sleepyred - hose hose head here.
I just cut a piece of panty hose (leg part) and put it under and over the simple cushion (Making sure NOT to cover the exhaust vent holes) and tied it around my head.
I bought the medium/large. You can go to:
http://www.comfortseries.respironics.com
and they have a "nose" guide. Who knows (nose) how accurate it is because I had not found it prior to purchase.
I am using the medium simple cushion and know that the small would have been too small for me. I tried the nasal pillows and used the large in them.
From the instruction manual:
"Simple Cushion: to determine which size is appropriate, start with the smallest cushion in the package."
"Direct Seal: to determine which size is appropriate, start with the largest cushion in the package."
These are the two I ordered and I got med/large.
As far as the chin strap goes - I have a simple chin strap and it did not work too well the way you are suggesting. However, I have never had trouble with my chin strap and it does keep my big mouth shut!
Put it over your chin and make sure the top part is right under you lower lip. The bottom part should stretch over and under your chin. Stretch it up to right in front of the crown of your head. You might have to experiment with this - it might work a little different, depending on the shape of your head. For me it had to go closer to the front than the back of my head.
Hope this helps - feel free to pm me anytime!
