I don't know. I thought I was keeping things pretty ladylike for a change.
crap...that is no big deal...cleaned up version of what I meant. We all know that and crap is not considered profanity by most of the general population. Of course Avi is doesn't seem to fit in with most of the general population.

A@@...well we know what that is but it is 3 letters and if the shoe fits... I could have said jackass which would have been appropriate but elected not to. Jackass is an animal.

fart....4 letters..bodily function of course but also this
"In certain circles the word is considered merely a common profanity with an often humorous connotation. For example, a person may be referred to as a 'fart', or an 'old fart', not necessarily depending on the person's age. This may convey the sense that a person is boring or overly fussy and be intended as an insult, mainly when used in the second or third person. For example '"he's a boring old fart!" However the word may be used as a colloquial term of endearment or in an attempt at humorous self-deprecation (e.g., in such phrases as "I know I'm just an old fart" or "you do like to fart about!"). 'Fart' is often only used as a term of endearment when the subject is personally well known to the user. In both cases though, it tends to refer to personal habits or traits that the user considers to be a negative feature of the subject, even when it is a self-reference. For example, when concerned that a person is being overly methodical they might say 'I know I'm being an old fart', potentially to forestall negative thoughts and opinions in others. When used in an attempt to be offensive, the word is still considered vulgar, but it remains a mild example of such an insult. This usage dates back to the Medieval period, where the phrase 'not worth a fart' would be applied to an item held to be worthless"

and actually I used it as the colloquial term of endearment.

Didn't see any other really nasty comments but then I didn't go back and read all what I said. It doesn't matter anyhow.
If I made the statement that the sun rose in the East and set in the West I am sure he would nit pick it to death.

Bitch is a female dog...and a woman bitch..well we all know it isn't a compliment. It is the same thing with some of our 4 letter words that we use that sometimes aren't really profanity but we sure don't mean it as a compliment.
I thought I was doing good. I didn't say WTF..which is what I thought...or what a "bleeping" idiot...or dumbass..or stupid old fart.
I wasn't passing out compliments for sure but I sure could have used much more colorful language if forum etiquette permitted. We all know he pissed me off. I know he doesn't give a rat's behind. He knows I don't care.
And now you all know that I am far from an angel and get me riled up and I will respond. No one and I mean no one ever talks down to me. I have tried to be respectful about the "off the wall" comments Avi has said in the past but this time...I just couldn't keep my mouth shut. Talk down to me AND insult women in general...asking for war...and I will do battle.

DannyPh
Danny if you are still here, I sincerely apolgize for sending your questions into an entirely different direction. Avi tends to get up our nose at times and really does not get along with some of the ladies on the forum..this is not the first time and I'm sure will not be the last.
I hope that you have gotten the answers and help that you needed before we derailed your thread. Again on behalf of the other ladies here, I apologize profoundly.
Cheers
Nan

Danny has been around the forum for a long time. I bet this isn't the first fight he has seen.

I do apologize for making his thread the battleground though. Besides..I was sticking up for his manhood which was called into question because he has the audacity to use a woman's mask. Is that weak excuse good enough?

Pugsy, you never have to apologize for anything!! You're our hero and are helping countless people who otherwise would have given up and endangered their lives. You're the BEST! Don't know what we would do without you. I've come to the conclusion that most of our newbies may be new to sleep apnea but are still good judges of people and it won't take long for them to realize that Avi is not to be taken seriously and is OFF THE WALL! My only regret in posting this is that he probably is loving that he's riling us up, and we should really be ignoring this character. If you all can read between the lines you'll see lots of four-letter words! Sorry, Danny! See what you started!

Thanks for the entertainment, everyone! Who the heck cares what kind of mask anyone wears? We are all asleep when we wear them, and I know my wife doesn't know much about different masks other than "Oh, you got another new one!" Seriously, I believe that if the mask fits, use it! I am not looking for another one after finding the Aloha and my AHI dropping to around 1, but if I thought the size or shape of a "for women" mask would suit my face better, I would go for it. Maybe not the one with pink covers. Although don't you know that wearing pink/red gets you more attention ...?!!

OMG I think I am going to puke. That is the most ridiculous thing I have heard said yet from the grumpy old man.
I am sorry but this beats everything. I am speechless and that takes a lot.
I missed this somehow and I wanted to "quote" Avi's post and comment but the aliens must have *deleted* his comments

Anyhow, here is the thing. Knowing nothing about cpap at the time, my doctor actually prescribed me the "nasal pillows" and clearly told me during my appointment way back that when men have a beard and mustache, he often finds starting with nasal pillows the most reliable and easy to deal with in the terms of compliance and overall therapy. He explained where maintaining the seal and nasal pillows being less constrictive on the face were things his patients found more comforting in his experience.

So my question to you avi is, should I share your thoughts with my doctor OR should I just start sitting down to pee now?

I got curious enough about this to tabulate some data. I collected information from the sleep study cost thread, because it had a lot of participants but there was nothing gender or mask specific about the discussion. I including only users with specified gender and text equipment in their signature. I counted the mask as "pillow" if, and only if, the text mentioned "pillow" or "prong". Here are my results:

________Male__Female
Pillow_____13____12
Not Pillow__25____7

There does seem to be a tendency for pillows to be more popular among women than men, though I have not had time to look up the correct statistical significance test. However, it would be very surprising if over a third of women had masculine tendencies and over a third of men had feminine tendencies. There are many other possible causes, such as how well particular types of mask fit different faces.

Of course, anyone who picks their mask based on whether it is popular among their gender, or on any criteria other than whether they can obtain it and it works for them, is just plain stupid, regardless of their gender.
