OSA can cause mis-dignoses in dementia cases
OSA can cause mis-dignoses in dementia cases
Sleep apnea is considered a culprit in the misdiagnosis of people with dementia-like symptoms. The Free Press article discusses the case of a man who had undiagnosed Lewy-body dementia. His symptoms were exaggerated by sleep apnea. According to the article, once the sleep apnea was treated his dementia symptoms improved dramatically.
The above is just a blurb from an article I read this morning in my hometown newspaper. Seems as if OSA is becoming more and more suspect for many physical ailments.

I believe it!
I was not only demented, but a real grouch, dope, & PITA before being blessed by the hose.

A brain minus O2, is a terrible thing to waste, however I think their are many more causes then that for the damage. Sleep Apnea does kill by inches. Jim

Yep. My OSA has been very well treated for about 6 years now and I'm still crazy ... so I'm told.
How you doing Jim?
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
Re: OSA can cause mis-dignoses in dementia cases
Doing well, Dreamstalker, and thanks for asking. I guess this is possible but I'm leery - every day or so you read something else that OSA adversely affects; a few weeks ago cancer was thrown into the mix - now dementia. 15 months ago I didn't even know what OSA was and I wouldn't even react to folks saying they tried it but decided to toss it all in a closet. Maybe my newness to the subject makes me notice it more than I did before the hose. It's sort of like you get a new car and in a few weeks didn't know there were that many of your model on the highways.
Or, it could be that OSA equipment manufacturers are beginning to push the need to sell more equipment. Nah, nobody does anything like that just because of the $ involved - do they? We'll see in time I guess but I just can't get out of my mind all the fuss that was made because of cholesterol - - not to mention the do-re-me.

I wish I could say that it's helped me that much... but I wasn't demented before, no less a grouch now, not a dope, a PITA... well, maybe.chunkyfrog wrote:I was not only demented, but a real grouch, dope, & PITA before being blessed by the hose.
Since my numbers are okay, I just assume I'm doing something good for my body.

I never said that I am no longer any of these things;
but when I am, I enjoy it more.
