Where do most people put the hose?
Re: Where do most people put the hose?
I am a side sleeper and I prefer to have the hose across my body and I put my arm over it.

Re: Where do most people put the hose?
I put a plant hanging hook a 18" above the bed, route enough length of hose through it to allow me to turn, and never looked back.
Re: Where do most people put the hose?
I ordered the hose buddy but they accidentally sent me the travel buddy and it works great. It slides between the mattress and box spring and swivels back and forth. I leave just enough hose to turn over but it isn't quite high enough to be hanging but is lifted so that it is easy to flop back and forth.
Re: Where do most people put the hose?
I roll around a lot when I sleep, so I know I've been mouth leaking. It has been a big problem for me.
So a friend of mine told me about this board a couple weeks ago and I have found it very helpful! Thank you so much, everyone, who takes the time to post. Very helpful to get other CPAP patients insights into real-world use of CPAP. It's a challenging thing to deal with apnea.
In reading about the different hose hangers, I decided to try the one from pursleep. Cozy Hoseboss? I think that's the name. Anyway, just a world of difference for me! I've got great sleep the last 3 nights and counting. Much better than before. Mouth leaking is lower. I'm waking up on my side, too, instead of my back. No trouble, no worries, hoseboss did the trick completely, for me at least.
I'm so happy I got this problem solved. Since starting CPAP I can for the first time roll from one side to the other side and back again, and my nose mask stays firmly attached. No more leaking!
So I will plug this product because it worked for me. If you mouth leak and don't have a hose hanger you should take a look at getting one. Makes a huge difference!

I just lay mine on my chest. It runs off the bed down by my knee.

I'm a tummy sleeper, so I route mine overhead, through the iron headboard.

Where ever my lady friends like it.
... Oh that hose
For people that thrash about in bed while asleep (or awake), it is best to rout it over top of your head.
To do that, as others have noted, the 3M Command hook and a cheap plastic key chain connected to hose with hair scrunchie (or velcro tie) is the most portable, adaptable, and economical approach. I use it at home and on the road.

Not all the links are active but it definitely gives you some ideas on hose management.

Re: Where do most people put the hose?
I use a 8 foot hose and have some of the hose next to me (about 2 feet of it is on my left side). The hose then crosses over my lower chest/upper stomach area, and the rest of it hangs down to the right side and off of the bed to the humidifier. I was a side to side sleeper before PAP therapy (probably my bodies way to stay alive each night with untreated severe OSA ), but now since using PAP therapy I sleep on my back and hardly move at all (at least to my knowledge), so I do not need to use a hose hanging system.

So I gave my brother a hozeboss a few weeks ago and he calls me regularly to gush about what a difference it makes in his cpap--
In the interest of full disclosure (for those who don't know me) I'm the guy behind the product and appreciate all of the help I got from board members in putting it together. I'm glad to hear it's helping some people with their therapy. For me it's the only way I can really use my cpap when I travel--hotels are the worst when it comes to hose management.

Re: Where do most people put the hose?
One of the reasons I put off mentioning my sleep apnea to my doctor was that I thought I would never be able to sleep with a mask and hose since I move around a lot. Strangely, that hasn't been an issue for me at all. I started with my machine is on the floor next to my bed. I did move it up to sitting on an open desk drawer (same location, just 14 inches higher) so that I can reach the on/off button without getting out of bed. I tend to sleep at least half the night facing the center of the bed, so away from my machine. The hose goes down from my face, across my body, and to the floor. I do keep it on top of the covers, and when I turn away from the machine, I grab some of the hose and make sure I bring it with me a little to keep it slack. I have had no problems with it at all. I do move around during the night, but it seems like it is fine.
I will have my first hotel stay with it a week from tomorrow. I think I will put one of my travel crates next to the bed, and set the machine on that, so that it is a similar height and within reach.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Re: Where do most people put the hose?
Swivel plant hanger on the wall about 3' above and 6" away from the corner of the mattress.
(can't be closer, the window is in the way.)
2'(+) section of fishing rod duct taped to the hanger arm.
2 key card reels clipped to the rod, one right above my chin, the other halfway to the wall.
Varying lengths of sili bandz connecting the reels to little girls' pony ties.
My hose runs through two pony ties a couple of feet or so above the pillow.
On vacation, my hubby used clothespins and pony ties to hang our hoses from the window curtains.

Re: Where do most people put the hose?
Right now, my apap sits on a little chair beside and just lower than the mattress with the hose going straight up about 6" and along the base of the headboard with approximately 3' of slack and since I've been sleeping on my side (various which side), I sorta just let the hose go out away from my face in the direction I'm laying and then back to the headboard... I'm looking for a way to improve on this because I think when I toss and turn especially before falling asleep, it is a little annoying having to manually keep re-positioning the hose...
