Data card corrupted or??

I don't understand the breaks in the graphs also looking at the Session Information shows the night broken up into 7 periods. I am thoroughly stumped because I remember nothing other than a few bouts with leak noise and adjusting, and finally deciding to get up. Any thoughts?

do you have automatic on and off turned on in your machine? if so it could be reading large leaks as mask off and turning itself off and then sensing you breathing and turning itself off. not all masks are sensed the same way so there could be a large lapse between off and on again sometimes. that will be the easiest answer here.

No, Smart Start is off. Good thought though.

It seems odd that the pressure started up where it left off, instead of dropping back to your minimum.

this may also be a resmed cpap vs data card problem. the machine may have decided to act strange about feeding the card info or the card may be acting up. some people with s-9 regularly format the card. re-boot your cpap by unplgging it for a while just like re-booting a modem and see what it does tonite. if it does it again, format the card.

Ah, ok. Will do. Thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't thought of reformatting but I will wait until after I do the re-booting procedure.

Lizistired - It doesn't make sense that if I had turned it off then back on in my sleep, it would have resumed at high pressure. Yeah, something fishy goin' on here. Not over pleased with the number of OSAs but wonder if that's a false reading as well. Oh my, I'm almost too tired to think.

I am having the same problem. Dasco gave me a new machine and SD card, but still having gaps in data. I forgot to take in the power supply, so returned it today. Hopefully that will solve the problem. I'll let you know tomorrow.

I would have expected an electrical glitch long enough to cause several minutes of recording gap to also throw the machine back to its starting pressure, but maybe not. It may be useful to check any plugs, sockets, extension cords etc.

I'm sorry you're having the same problem but on the other hand, glad I'm not the only one.
Took everything in to the DME this afternoon and he read the card with the ResScan software and the same breaks were there so that rules out SleepyHead and my computer. I will pay particular attention re-assembling everything in a few minutes to make sure that all cords are correctly attached. Had to laugh when he suggested putting a little dab of honey on the on/off button so if I am turning it off and on in my sleep, I will awaken with at least one sticky finger. Nothing to loose so might as well give it a try too.

Look forward to hearing from you tomorrow.

There were only two breaks in the the charts this morning and I remember doing both. The first time in response to the huge hissing sound coming from my pillows because I had pushed them out of the way to give the itch on my nose a good rub then forgot to replace them in my nose. Then a brief turn off when I thought it was time to get up but then decided to go back to sleep. So, all accounted for and the mystery remains. You know that big black box in the power cord between the wall plug and the machine, it's called...??...Can't remember, anyway, when I was making the bed yesterday, I realized that that black box had spent the night under a big down pillow. I wonder if it could have over-heated and turned itself off periodically to cool down. I'll be more careful to make sure it remains under the bed.

Hope y'all had a superior sleep last night!

I used the new power supply last night with no gaps in data. It will take a couple of nights before I'll know for sure if the power supply was the problem. The gaps still remain a mystery. I had ramp and auto start activated on my old machine, and you would think if the machine shut off, it would start again at the ramp pressure. One night I had 14 sessions and after each session the pressure remained the same, never at ramp pressure. As Pugsy says, the aliens are at work again.

Since you are using a Resmed machine it is worth looking at this data in ResScan as well as SleepyHead. SleepyHead is remarkably good beta-software, but it is still beta. And there are some problems with the Resmed machines.

i'm a system one man and know nothing about resmed. in system one my machine starts at my low pressure setting (8) and works up to my high pressure (12). if i want ramp (4) i must push the ramp button each time. are you telling me that with resmed you always start at the ramp pressure? i never heard this before. just curious.

Yes..ramp being on or off is a setting in the clinical menu that lets you determine pressure and length of time at ramp and you either have it or you don't and no choice like there is with the Respironics ramp button.

I use a ResMed machine right now but I elected not to use ramp so that feature is off in my clinical menu. When I used a Respironics machine I never felt the need to use the ramp with it either.

system one seems like the better set up for me then. i've been gradually weaning myself off of ramp and a-flex.
