swift LT mask

....I have nothing but trouble with my Swift LT mask. I adjust it for a good fit without air, then with air and the slightest movement it leaks. Then I just cannot get a good seal again. Anyone else with this problem? I have 2 masks; 1 not used and the other used about 3 half nites when I had to resort to my adams nasal pillow mask. I tell ya.......if they were heavier I'd use them for boat anchors!

The answer is pretty obvious-- adjust it Lying down and with your machine ON.

I use the same mask. You must adjust the mask with the machine running and you laying down. Its pretty useless to adjust with the machine off and you sitting up.

They are double walled pillows. They need the air flowing to inflate and seal properly. Also you can try a very small dab of lanoish on each nare to assist with sealing.

My Bad!....I meant LT and said FX.....And yes, I put my mask on sitting up to get the feel of it and adjust it laying down with the air on.

Your straps could be too tight. Try loosening the straps so they are snug, not tight.

Have you tried a different size nasal pillow? I used the Swift LT until the Swift FX was released and I had minimal leaks with with either once it was fitted properly and pretty much never changed any adjustments once the final adjustment was made.
Normally the pillows should stay in place with "a little movement" and only become unseated with a lot of movement.
Perhaps the size is not optimal?

You might also look at the new Aloha nasal pillow mask. It seems to be more stable yet very comfortable to use from what most people are reporting.

Hello, I too use nasal pillows.......The best mask I have got, as nasal mask gave me a truckload of problems of air leakage as I have a flat nose, been a Asian as many of us have flat button noses!!!! Yes, I realized nasal pillows was the right choice for me as it suited my facial features. When a mask fails it can be a very expensive exercise. Thanks for all your suggestions to overcome my dilemma. I will certainly try all your suggestions on the weekend when I don't need to be bright and can afford interupted sleep. When the adams nasal pillow mask was discontinued, the LT was suggested by my supplier with great feedback. Thanks to a member of this forum who gave me a source for the replica adams headgear which I had been using since. Twelve years on cpap and a closet full of masks, the adams seems to be the right one for me. When time permits, I will try to make my own headgear from leather ( I do leather craft ) and use the old nasal accessories which I have a couple of sets of. Did anyone else try make their own headgear, since the fabric ones do not last that long?
