I bet this complaint is a first by a spouse
My wife complained about my new machine the other night.
Said it was too quiet that she has trouble falling asleep now.
I shouldn't have offered her a mask and my old machine, my back still hurts where she hit me.

Well I guess we are all different.

She says she doesn't sleep well because their is no noise in the room. She also doesn't like to sleep alone.Slinky wrote:So how does she sleep the nights you are at the fire house??
I wonder what she will do when I loose this extra weight and I am off the machine completely?

Eat some bean burritos every night before bed. The noise is different, but it's a noise.

This is a first for me! White noise sounds like a good solution.

Here is a good one for the group:Gerryk wrote:My wife complained about my new machine the other night.
Both of us are hose-heads since late last year. Three nights ago I noticed a change in the sound from my wife's breathing/cpap machine. It sounded different than her normal sound from vent of her Swift FX. The next day we ended up in the emergency room as she started to retain water and get short of breath due to her CHF and her meds needed to be adjusted. Moral of the story - get to know what the "normal" sound is and if it changes try to figure out what caused the change. This time we caught it early enough as we only had a 12 hour visit without and admission this time.

Since untreated sleep apnea can lead to CHF it sounds as if her therapy is NOT effective to me.retrodave15 wrote: Three nights ago I noticed a change in the sound from my wife's breathing/cpap machine. I have no doubt, how I sleep affects every waking moment.
I am making progress-NOW I remember that I can't remember

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

The CHF is secondary to her repaired atrial septum defect that was found and repaired after the birth of our second child. Treating hear sleep apnea generally keeps it from getting worse. Mother's day is special for us as her heart surgeon told us that she should not be here, and she should have never survived childbirth, let alone 2 births.

Re: I bet this complaint is a first by a spouse
Your post makes me chuckle. May I offer an idea:
On a night when you're off the next day, don't wear your xpap and record yourself.
Then when the bedroom is too quiet she can replay it and set the volume to her liking till she falls asleep.
@rjezuit - ROFL. Awesome idea!

It's not my snoring that she misses. If I fall asleep without my cpap, I barely snore since the surgery.
My old machine was much noisier.

You'll have to cross that bridge when you come to it. I lost 70 pounds and am now quite slim and use a higher pressure than I did at dx.Gerryk wrote:She says she doesn't sleep well because their is no noise in the room.
