Background: When I sleep the cushion on my Quattro FX detaches from the plastic portion of the mask. After boiling the silicone cushion this happened only twice last night (thankfully only once while I was sleeping), but the night before it happened um... far more frequently (all during sleep).
I think it happens after the ASV cranks up really high for certain events a few times, which loosens and frees the cushion from the top of the mask. A loud whooshing jet of air wakes me through noise, and it blowing onto my forehead. My DME and I spoke, and the response I received was, "just reattach it and put it back on". What is that?! I want a longer term solution that reattach and wait for it to happen again. Just on principle, that is irritating.
Now, there are a few possible solutions: a) tape the cushion in place, b) glue the cushion in place, c) put the mask on differently, but that constrains air flow through my nose, d) deal with it until I see my doctor this week. e) obtain another Quattro FX, f) try a new mask (full face or hybrid), g)seek suggestions from the forum goers.
Note: this was to vent and to seek solutions. This problem is relatively minor, but still an inconvenience.
