Please Help With ResMed Vpap Adapt & ResScan Software
Hi all! It has been awhile since I have been here but I finally got my new ResMd Vpap Adapt machine 2 days ago. I am having issues trying to get the data off of the card to transfer it to the ResScan Software. I am not sure how to use it once I put the SD card in my computer. Any help is appreciated. I am totally lost. Thanks so much! Terri

I had responded to your PM to me. I will repeat it here since it might help others:

You can probably find them at Best Buy and/or RadioShack. Also, check on the version of the software. The most current version (see above) might be needed to read the SD card reader.
Hope that helps.
But you had some additional data here:JohnBFisher wrote:...

Hope you are doing well. I can say things are going fairly well for me. And it's good to be able to say that, isn't it?

Um? Is it the following machine:

Or the following machine:

If it is like the first unit, then all you need is a SD card reader that the Rescan software can use to download the software. You might need the latest version of the Rescan software to work with it.
If it is the the second unit, then you will need a USB to Serial adapter and a null modem cable to attach to the back of the ASV unit. Here's a couple cables:

Yes. I think it is. If it does not recognize the SD card reader you may need a more current version of the Rescan software. You can get the latest version from:
http ://www.resmed.com/int/assets/html/service_ ... ister.html
highlight and paste the line in the top box of the window and take out the space after the http. Then click GO.
Here's a tutorial on using Rescan:

If you continue to have problems, you might want to post a query in the forum. I'm not a Rescan expert.

Always happy to help.
Since you note it's an SD card, we then know it's the S9 version of the VPAP Adapt. It is possible that you can not read the SD card because the SD card reader does not recognize an SDHC card. That is, if the card is a 4gb card, older card readers would not be able to read it. Fortunately, the readers are not all that expensive. The following is an example:TmjTerri wrote:Hi all! Or you may simply need to install the driver recommended by the SD Standards Association, even if your computer recognizes other SD cards but not the ResScan one.
You may need the free SDFormater software to read older SD cards.
http://www.sdcard.org
You might try this before shopping for an auxiliary card reader which will need to take up one of your USB slots.
It worked for me, on the kind recommendation of another cpaptalk member a few months ago.

Re: Please Help With ResMed Vpap Adapt & ResScan Software
Terri, the ResScan software once installed looks for the SD card, with the data on it from the S9, and which is plugged in one of the computer USB ports.
Then I get a flag on the Window that Quick Start has detected an S9 Autoset (in my case). I cross it off and get a flag to choose a patient.
If the SD card is not suitable or corropted then when inserting it in the XPAP the machine will say so on the screen.
I use this Sony card reader from Staples to connect the SD card to the USB port on the computer:
It costs about $13 but it's out of stock now.
