38,000 Hours, time for new equipment.

Hello All,

I'm new to the forum and want to say hello to all, I've been learning a lot about my new machine and a big THANK YOU for all who contribute.

I am not new to a CPAP, I've been using one for years and can't sleep without it, LOVE IT. I brought in my old machine (a Respironics Aria XL, second one) and it had 38,000+ hours on it, that equals 8 hours of sleep a night for 13 years! I couldn't remember how long I had it, so yes, It's time for new equipment. My new machine is listed below.

Did you vote in the last election? Probably, 38,000 hours on a Respironics machine, and you reward them by getting another brand, you won't get 38,000 hours on you new choice. I doubt if any modern XPAP could live up to that standard. Jim

I'm just going with what was recommended to me, they were correct last time and I expect the same now. I'm sure you are right that none of the modern machines are built like my old war horse.

A DME that was correct and working for your best interest, you are pulling my leg. You got lucky! Once! I have a Respironics Remstar APAP (TANK), with 14,000 hours on it, but am running up the hours on my orgional Respironics CPAP Pro 2 (TANK) and still have my Respironics APAP (TANK) that I bought from CPAP dot COM, tested and put away for a rainy day, basically still NEW. My new PR ONE Series 60 feels like its built like a tank compared to my S9.
