A positive for the Auto On feature...if there is a minor brown out with electricity and machine gets turned off and you don't wake up immediately...the machine will come right back on when it senses your breathing. I personally have seen this with recent storms here.. I see the break in therapy line that is so very small and I never knew it but I would remember hearing the rocking and rolling of thunder and lightening.
I'd never thought about this... going to start using Auto On now...

With the System One Bipap (I had for about 6 weeks) - my breathing was so shallow that I had to sometimes force deep breaths to get it to cut on.
The Trilogy does not have an auto on/auto off feature, which is something I miss. With my setup, I have to reach across the cart (and over top of the humidifier) and turn on the Trilogy, then the humidifier, then the oxygen concentrator (which sits below on the bottom shelf of the cart). In the morning, everything is turned off in opposite order (oxygen, humidifier, ventilator). It's kind of a pain, but it's the way it is.

I didn't time it this morning. But the auto shut off takes about 5-6 seconds on S9 Vpap

So how does auto off work?
You stop breathing and the machine stops
Does it work by detecting a high mask leak when your remove the mask? Does it subtract that leak from your nightly stats? Just curious
I use auto on but notice that sometimes i need 2 or 3 attemps to get it going.

I have used Auto On almost since day one. Not sure why, but have never used Auto Off.

I'll look up my stats on the auto off and post later today.

I believe at one time there was some discussuon that some masks may not be consistent in activating Smart Start.

That, I believe was FFMs only.
That is no longer the case on newer S9s with the latest
machine software versions.

With my Intellipap, I disconnect my hose from the mask (have Quick Connects) and within about 5 or 6 seconds the machine shuts off. It shows nothing on my data unless the end of the hose is near some bedclothes. Then it shows as a leak. In that few seconds I am taking my mask off (it's no longer connected) and hanging it up on my hose buddy.

I use smart start. I don't use the auto shutoff because my wife gets up later in the AM, and I don't want to disturb her sleep with 5 seconds of high leak wind noise.

I checked my stats. The Auto Off does not trigger any sort of leak event. S9 VPAP and Sleepyhead
