finished sleep study and they gave me a used machine?

well i dont have insurance and im guessing everyone else did but a lady from a medical supply company came at 5 o clock in the morning after the sleep study was over and offered me a machine wich was great even if it was all dirty and she lied and said oh thats from where i spilled my coffee on it....well it was white crustyness and she wiped it off with some purell and showed me how to turn it on. that was it i got a mask and hose but no other info at all.Well the main reason for this post is the next part they sent me back and forth changing the level from 15 then to 11 then to 13 anyways i didnt go back in to change it to 13 cus 11 was so releaving, long story short i woke up in the middle of the night and the machine was beeping and it wont work it just says needs service. so im screwed theyre probably gonna try to make me pay 500 dollars for it no warranty or anything its just up to them how much to charge and i agreed to pay 50 dollars a month. but now its broken and id rather just get one , the probblem there is i just lost my job from having sezuires for a week straight and its all related to my sleep apnea. dopes anyone have any advice on gettin my hands on one free somehow? or how to fix this darn thing

Please re-write your post to be very clear and add the type of machine that
"they" gave you and also add your sleep test results.

Are you sure that you got seizures from Sleep Apnea? What kind of seizures did you have
for a full week?

I think you should call the medical supply person and tell them it doesn't work. I can't see them making you pay for something that doesn't work. They will likely replace it. I would not agree to pay $50. a month for something that was used but I am not familiar with how things are handled there. Call them and see what they say.

Just take their non-working machine back; get a receipt, and start looking on Craig's list--
locally so you can look at the merch before you pay for it.
Read through the info in this forum about what machines to look for.
Check with local charities on help with a machine.

They are making you pay $50.00 a month for a dirty, broken machine?? Take it back! Be sure to get a receipt for it. Tell them in no uncertain terms that it is broken and you do not want it.

Check Craig's list in your area. There are often some good buys on there. Keep reading here and try to learn about different machines.

Maybe someone can tell you how to access the hours on your machine. If it is indeed evidenced that it is used, and they purposely lied to you about it, you'll have more leverage in your stance. This could work out in your favor, as they won't want you reporting it.
