New sleep study

Post by stantheman » Tue Apr 03, 2012 7:20 pm

Hello everyone,

I just had a gall bladder and hernia surgery. I have not been able to use my machine since March 15, 2012. I am scheduled for a sleep study my first in 4 years and have been reading my machine every night until I went off it on the 15th. I was down to 0.0 0.3 on a bad night on a BIPAP with my numbers at 15/10. I originally started 20/17 4 years ago. I have a m series auto BIPAP and the new study is on the 20th of this month. If I still need a machine (I have lost almost 50 pounds and my wife is telling me I don't snore or gasp for breath anymore) I want to be prepared when I go and find out what machine do they make now that still gives you data so I can still be proactive with my therapy. Thanks

Stan

You may find in the sleep study that you don't need an XPAP anymore. Loosing 50 lbs could have done it, if you also lost fat in your throat.

Are you thinking BiPap again or cpap/apap?

If you still need a machine are you wanting to stay with Respironics or change?
