RemZzzs mask liners
Re: RemZzzs mask liners
Kiralynx, thanks for the response. I'll pass this along to our designer and we'll have to see if we can either produce a version for the Probasic Zzz-mask, or recommend a compatible style. I'll let you know what I find out.

Hi Kiralynx, I spoke with our designers and they feel that the RemZzzs liner for the Fisher & Paykel FlexFit 431 would be a good fit for your Probasic Zzz-mask. Let me know if you have any questions.

Re: RemZzzs mask liners
A few months back, I purchased three sample kits, one for a nasal mask and two for different FF masks. I used them nightly for two+ weeks. It took more time for me to put the mask on and adjust it, and they sometimes tickled my nose or face and I had to remove the mask and try again. I did not notice any change in leak rates - mine were already pretty low. At the time, I did like the comfort of the cloth vs the silicon seal. When I had used all the samples, I started washing, ironing, and reusing the RemZzzs. Soon that was too much of a bother and I quit using them. Just this past week, I had an itchy chin and used one for a portion of two nights. I used some H-creme on my chin and the itch is gone so I am now back to using my mask as is without the RemZzzs.
If the RemZzzs were 1/2 the price or I was more adept at creating my own as some of the forum members are, I would use the cloth inserts more nights as I do like the change in feel of the mask with them between the silicon seal and my face.

Thank you -- I'll have to see about getting a trial pack. I don't use the FF mask except when a respiratory infection or insane allergies strike, but it's well to be prepared.

Re: RemZzzs mask liners
My mom is wondering what kind pattern you are using (for those who cut out their own material). Is it like a mask with eye holes?

Just place your mask on a piece of well worn washed cotton, draw around it but add about 3/4 of an inch all around. Cut out a SMALL nose hole...experiment with the nose hole to fit your nose. I just made another one to fit my nasal mask but I added an forehead bit to it, now I don't get marks from the forehead piece. I have made them for my quattro but now I have purchased the one Karen makes at Padacheeks and it is even better than the cotton ones and will last a whole lot longer. Just do a search for both "homemade remzzz" and a google for "padacheeks."

Re: RemZzzs mask liners
I have tried the RemZzzs and Padacheek. The Padacheek works far better for me and is far less than 1/10 the cost when you figure how long they last. I have 2 and alternate back and forth about once a week when I wash the one being used. I have been using for several months and both are in great shape. It is much easier to keep in place than RemZzs since it wraps around the whole mask. You dont need to hold the mask face up and place your face into it like Remzzs. Just put it on in any position. I dont have to wash the mask as often since it doesnt touch my skin. I have a very small increase in leaks, but not enough to matter. I had a large increase with the Remzzs, and could not get more than 2 nights out of each one. I tried making my own face gaskets like Remzzzs, but the Padacheek works better since it is held in place by wraping around. I do not work for Padacheek. Happy Sleeping.

Re: RemZzzs mask liners
Well, after a year's (or almost) use with the ResMed Mirage Quattro full face mask, I am getting a rash around my nose that is very sore and red and flaky. So, I have ordered some RemZzzs to try to remedy the situation. I spoke with an RT...got some advice like putting baby powder around my nose area before putting on the mask...rinsing my mask with a vinegar solution.....using a more gentle soap when cleaning (I was using Palmolive dish soap; thought that was gentle???)....there has to be a solution! Strange why this just started happening after using it for not quite a year. I am open to suggestions.....

Re: RemZzzs mask liners
I have about 25 of these in a ResMed Quattro size L that I am willing to part with.
I bought them last month and found that they just didn't work for me. I tried using one a night and one multi nights as suggested by others here at cpaptalk.com) but just couldn't get them to do what I had hoped they would. I have a pad-a-cheek liner and anti leak strap on order.
First person to PM me with their contact details gets them (from my smoke and pet free home).

Re: RemZzzs mask liners
Hey guys,
Im lucky enough to get my CPAP needs free of charge from the NHS. This is why Im not a fan of Nathans RemZZZ liners or companys who like to make a proffit from peoples illness.
Anyway, I think I have a solution to leakage when using DIY liners. Once I have used my face wipe (i use "simple") I rinse the soap from it and dry it on a radiator and cut my liner out of this. The realy light cotton compresses well and gives little or no leakage.

Re: RemZzzs mask liners
Hi guys. I work at clinical sleep in vancouver canada. We do sell them and I have had some success with the liner especially on the full face masks. I usually fit most people with the mirage quattro and i have has success and failure with them. Some people do find them a bit finicky, but others swear by them and regularly order them. I have a few samples in the office and give them out for my patients to try if they are running into trouble. No harm in trying i say. I have a patient with a zest nasal mask that leaves lines on her face and she likes them a lot. cheers.

Re: RemZzzs mask liners
remzzz's are probably a wonderful product... but the bottom line for me is cost..
6 months ago, I paid $36 for 2 pad-a-cheek liners and they are still in use today with no sign of needing replacement.
Remzz's are not re-usable & not covered by insurance. The last time I checked, a 30 day supply of remzz's for my FFM is $29.95.
if I used remzzz's over the past 6 months, I would have spent $180.
it's a no-brainer for me...

Thanks for the heads up as my wife has just gotten the same set up as you and the silicon against her skin leaks in many places. Pad a cheek looks like a good fit for her.
