Travelling with CPAP. Do you use distilled water?
I'll be going on a weekend trip in two weeks. I usually use distilled water for the humidifier for my machine. Since I'll only use my machine for three nights, I'm considering just using tap water. However, there's a Walgreens by the hotel where I'm staying, so I may just pick up a jug of distilled water since I don't like the scaling and gunk building up in the humidifier tub. I was just curious, for those of you who use distilled water, what do you use when you go travelling?

When only going for several nites (up to 3), I use tap water. I don't think that small exposure to minerals makes significant difference.

If you are concerned enough to ask.........spend a buck and buy distilled at Walgreens.

It really isn't a big deal either way, I was just curious as to what other travelling hoseheads are doing.

Yes, I use it in my iron, so I use it in my machine, I travel with both.

I have no doubt, how I sleep affects every waking moment.
I am making progress-NOW I remember that I can't remember

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

I have go for 3 weeks on a motorcycle so travel light I just buy a bottle of water where I'm staying and use it,
this also leaves me some to drink . I do clean my tank with vinegar to remove any calcium buildup after 3 weeks and have been doing this every year for 3 years with No problems

I buy a gallon at my destination and leave the remainder when I fly home. If I am driving, I take it with me. I do not like the smell of chlorine in tap water and will use bottled drinking water instead.

I use tap if going for a few nights in US, I clean with vinegar when I get home, never any trouble. If I were going to a third world country, or Mexico, or somewhere with a questionable tap supply I'd find distilled . Kathy
Any landing you walk away from is a good one; if you don't break your airplane it's excellent.
Re: Travelling with CPAP. Do you use distilled water?
I can't stand the dirty, dusty stench in my nostrils after using tap water. I tried it my first night on CPAP. I take distilled water on road trips, and buy it if I fly somewhere.

The driving part is easy. When traveling things don't always (often) go according to plans.msla wrote:I buy a gallon at my destination and leave the remainder when I fly home. When I am flying I will likely be busy and tired when I get to destination and don't want to be bothered with hunting down things so I bring enuff for me to get my sea legs (3-4 days or so) until I can get to a place that sells some.
Esp. that 1st nite is critical to me. So much less stressful to have what you need when you get there. But hey, that is me.

For a week-ender or even a week, you arn't going to clog up or get any scale in your tank if you use tap water. no problems.
spend the distilled water money on an ice cream cone. enjoy the week end.

Re: Travelling with CPAP. Do you use distilled water?
Yes. I use it because it's healthier than what may come out of the tap.

We hauled a jug on a long car trip.
Left the remainder for my brother to put in his cpap tank.
