VA Tech says...
VA Tech says...
I have been on my cpap since Wed... Loaded Sleepyhead and got good numbers but the time/clock was off by 2 hours and now DST. Called the tech and asked if I could correct the time and he SAID... remove the card and not put it back in because they will read the correct info at my next appointment FROM THE INTERNAL MEMORY and that the card would /could mess up the internal memory... SAY WHAT? What do you think? I want to see my daily improvements.
Re: VA Tech says...
Oh, if I leave the card in will the internal memory still keep the info? and can I delete the card so it looks like I left it out before I go back to my appt?
Re: VA Tech says...
ResMed machines have a clock that you can set. Sounds like if time was off prior to DST change that the tech didn't bother with the machine clock.
All you need to do is go into the clinical menu to set correct time.
If you leave the card out of the machine you lose some high def detailed data but the hours of use is still available and that is what most DMEs look at. Hours of use is unrelated to the clock itself.
Using SleepyHead won't hurt a thing. Leave the card in.....adjust the clock but do it after 12PM because that is when the machine starts a new day. So after 12 PM (on the machine prior to the change) adjust the clock.
If you don't know how to get to the clinical menu to adjust the clock this link explains it with pictures or if you have the clinical/provider manual it also tells you how.

If you don't have the provider manual you can request it here.

What Pugsy said.
Sounds like your DME didn't bother to set your machine correctly and doesn't want you to know how to do it.

Hey Jarhead, welcome to the forum. You must have seen my link in the sleep apnea thread over at leatherneck.com?
This is a great place to be for cpap, a lot of great knowledgable folks, and you already heard from two of them.
Semper Fi!

Thinking of quitting CPAP?
No problem, here's the first thing to do when you quit:
Advanced funeral planning. When you give up CPAP, you'll probably need it.

Yep. OMG we aren't supposed to know how to get to the ultra secret stuff. Way too much for us mortals to be able to handle. Barf.....Lizistired wrote:Sounds like your DME didn't bother to set your machine correctly and doesn't want you to know how to do it.
I just hate being treated like I am a moron with no sense at all. Really, really irritates me.

That's what I thought... I just have to make it look like I do what they say... I think I'll just buy myself a new card and keep my own records... What do you think?

Re: VA Tech says...
I wouldn't worry about it. I doubt that they will look close enough to tell if you have played by their "rules". It does pay to have an extra card in case they want yours and don't provide you with a replacement.USMC1968 wrote:That's what I thought... I just have to make it look like I do what they say... Re: VA Tech says...
Ah but at least all of you with the S9's can get into the secret stuff and adjust the clock.
My PR System One's clock is about 5 minutes ahead of GMT. And there's no way at all to change it.
