Cpap Pillow?
Does anyone use a cpap pillow? When I turn on my side my pillow knocks my mask and pushes it out of place. Just wondered if they work and if there was a good one someone would recommend. Thanks for your time in advance.
Re: Cpap Pillow?
Do a search here on bed pillows or CPAP pillows. There are several threads about CPAP pillows.

The search function often sucks.

I think there are lots of good ones, but I use the cpapMAX and like it a lot. It is small and relatively firm and allows me to turn over and sleep part of the night on my side without knocking my mask out of place. I rest my cheek on the firm squared off edge of the pillow and it feels good and supports my head because, unlike conventional pillows, the edge does not taper off into nothing. The edge is a high and firm as the middle.CpapPorkchop wrote:Does anyone use a cpap pillow? When I turn on my side my pillow knocks my mask and pushes it out of place. Re: Cpap Pillow?
I use the CPAPMax pillow as well. I had to take out the removable center layer because it was too tall for my neck with it. But I like it and it has helped with side sleeping and not dislodging my mask.

I use regular pillows, but I use the Sobakawa cloud intermittently. I switch things up depending on mood. Sobakawa available at BB+B for $20. It is small so I use it on top of a regular size feather pillow.
Some of our members swear by the Buckwheat hull pillows. The hulls are firm and cool and don't shift unless you decide to shift them. You can adjust them by removing or adding hulls. There is one called Regenesis available on PurSleep.com
I saw a pillow called the side sleeper or side sleep on qvc the other day and it looked comfy. You can return their products if you aren't satisfied.

Re: Cpap Pillow?
I bought one and tried to get used to it but it just gave me a stiff neck. Now I have gone back to a normal pillow.
Re: Cpap Pillow?
I've really enjoyed my CPAPmax. I typically like thin pillows, but I love this one even with the extra inch of foam in there. I am sleeping great and no neck or back aches in the morning.

Re: Cpap Pillow?
Well thanks for all the replies! I'll check out the cpapmax. Again thanks everyone! Take care.
Re: Cpap Pillow?
That sounds as if you tried it with your shoulders and/or full neck on the pillow.ozze_dollar wrote:I bought one and tried to get used to it but it just gave me a stiff neck. Now I have gone back to a normal pillow.
Unlike a conventional pillow, only your head and a tiny potion of your neck should be on the pillow, so that your face is almost completely parallel with the ceiling. Your shoulders should be completely off the pillow, resting on the surface of the bed.
The more your head is tilted forward, the more likely you are to get a stiff neck. If you are using it correctly, you will be facing the ceiling, and your neck will not be bent forward.

Re: Cpap Pillow?
I went to Jim's Pharmacy to day and bought me a new cpap pillow. It has a strap thing that fastens to the hose to prevent it from dropping. I don't think it is the max but it is comfortable and I slept on it while taking a nap this afternoon. My old cpap pillow is getting so thin and bothers my neck so I'll use the old one here and the new one over at Mom's. We have been taking care of her as she is going down hill and lost her husband at Thanksgiving and she is going down too so I come home one week a month. My cpap is over there too and it would be nice to have a second one so I wouln't have to drag it back and forth. Going back tomorrow afternoon. Well don't forget to set your clocks ahead tonight before bed. Huggies, Fay
