I have been trying out masks because the PR comfortgel blue tends to have a a lot leaks because I sleep on my side. I've tried the Activa LT which the small was too big for my small face. I like the Mirage FX but the one size is a bit big as well. I have to tighten both of them way down to get a good seal. I thought I might try the Swift FX for her. The small seems to fit well, but I feel like it is difficult to exhale with it. I am on 11 pressure so that might be a little much.
I think I am going to send the Activa and the Swift FX back because they are just a bit too much. I think I can work with the other two.
Anyone have any other suggestions,
Jenn
Nasal Pillows versus Nose Masks
Re: Nasal Pillows versus Nose Masks
I found that I had a hard time exhaling with the Swift FX small pillows, but the problem went away with the medium pillows. It turned out that I got a better overall fit with the Opus 360 pillows. The moral of the story is that, if you want to use nasal pillows, try a few different sizes and styles before you decide that they just won't work for you.

I was tempted to switch from the Swift to the Opus for that very reason, but was deterred by the apparent stiffness of the cheek straps on the Opus vs the soft silicone of the Swift FX. How did you adjust to those cheek straps in order to benefit from their nasal pillows?cowlypso wrote:I found that I had a hard time exhaling with the Swift FX small pillows, but the problem went away with the medium pillows. I wore my Swift FX for a year and a half before I put on the fabric side covers.
It's not too bad either way.

Try the Resmed Mirage softgel nasal mask.
Re: Nasal Pillows versus Nose Masks
The stiffness of the cheek straps on the Opus didn't bother me at all. They do have a foam lining. The part that bothered me was that they stuck to my cheeks and left marks. I actually used the little velcro strap covers from my Swift FX to cover the cheek straps, and they work perfectly. No marks at all. I think that the stiffness of the cheek straps actually helps to keep the pillows in place while I sleep (my big problem with the Swift FX was that it moved all over and I couldn't keep a seal).
