Encore Viewer Software Alternative?

Post by Jason S. » Tue Feb 14, 2012 7:23 pm

Neither version of Encore Viewer 1.1 or 2.0 is compatible with my new PC, which is 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium.

I was running version 1.1 on my old Windows XP machine, but the computer died about a month ago.

Does anyone know of software I can use to get my sleep data?

Hi Jason,

Give me a few minutes to get a note together and I will send you a PM that will help you with your software search.

BTW Encore Viewer 2.0 will run on a 64 bit Windows 7 computer... I have it on my computer here but it won't install from the disc. The problem is in the installer. There is a conflict with the 64 bit installer.. if you have Viewer on another computer you can copy the files/folder to a disc then manually transfer to the 64 bit computer and it will work. You have to make your own short cut to the application .exe file though. Once copied/pasted to the new computer...it works just fine.

Thanks for the info. I don't have another PC, but I might be able to get a friend to do it. Would the card reader have to be installed on his machine also?

No.. just the software..then move to a disk or flash drive...then put on the new computer...then do the card reader and smart card thing.

Also I forgot...you will need to update the DT3500 driver software for the new computer.

I can do this (the above), but will it work? It presumes the install program does not put any files in the registry or other folders besides the folders I will copy from the other computer.

I borrowed a Windows XP laptop, so theoretically: I should be able to install the Encore Viewer 2.0 software on the laptop, hook up an external USB hard drive to the laptop and copy the files there. Uninstall the program on the laptop. Then move the folders and files created in the install from the external USB drive to my new PC. Then create a shortcut to the .exe file on my new PC. And that will work?

I already have the card reader working on the new machine (according to the Devices menu)

Thanks.

I have a Windows 7 64 bit laptop. I have Encore Viewer 2.0 on this very same laptop and it works just fine. It will work doing it the way that I said because I did it myself and it took just a couple of minutes.

If you could figure out a way to copy the contents of the downloaded setup files without triggering the setup install wizard you wouldn't even need to install it on another computer. I was unable to figure out how to open the setup files (from a download) because it kept triggering the install wizard. So I just copied the files from the program on a 32 bit computer to disc and used the disc to paste the contents to a new folder. Then I went to the program and found the application exe file and right clicked on it and pinned to start menu and now I don't even have to go back into the files to open the program.
