I am new to CPAP with a ResMed Elite S9 and an H5i humidifier and am looking for what software is available to decode the memory device and give me some sense of how it is working and if there are any improvements in my sleep.
1) Name of Software (needed for windows machine)
2) Where it can be purchased
Any suggestions would be most helpful.

Re: Looking for Software Recommendation
ResMed has ResScan software.
You can find a link to in in Uncle Bob's signature. memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=38643 free
Tutorial for it herehttp://montfordhouse.com/cpap/resscan_tutorial/
You can also use SleepyHead which is simpler and easier to manage (I think). It works with Resmed machines just fine. I have links for the download and user guide in my signature at the bottom left of my post. SleepyHead software is much smaller and much faster.
ResScan was written for doctor and DME offices so a lot of the stuff in there is "office" stuff so it is bulky and slow. Your choice which you would like to use. Try both to see which you like the best.

Re: Looking for Software Recommendation
OK,thanks got the ResMed and have looked at the 35 days now recorded on my machine. Do not know enough to interpret the data but am seeing the Doctor next Wednesday for explanations. This site has been helpful in definitions and I find that my AHI of 16.8 puts me in the moderate range.

Re: Looking for Software Recommendation
I have now also downloaded sleepyhead beta 0.9.1. It seems to display more data from my card than does the ResMed software. I could continue to use both but would appreciate a recommendation as to which one would be the recommended one. I note that sleepyhead is said to be smaller and faster. I am willing to learn the difficulties of ResMed if that is the better one to use.

Me too.squid13 wrote:I have both on my machine and download everyday to both of them.
I tried to narrow it down to one, but there are simply some unique features in the ways each one displays some of the data that I prefer over the other.
In some ways, SleepyHead actually seems more sophicated, but when it comes to graphical displays, I just seem to "get it" quicker with my eyes and brain looking at some of ResScan's graphics. In other parts of the data, I prefer SleepyHead's graphics.
If development in SleepyHead continues with ongoing improvements, hopefully there will come a time when it will include all of the best features of ResScan too, at least as display options/preferences. Then maybe I can stop downloading into both, but not yet. At least for me.
