I am just wondering if something is wrong or if anyone has any idea what is going on.
I just started with my cpap in October. My doc says that we are still making adjustments to find the best pressure setting. I normally have been using the swift fx nasal pillows. My AHI ranges from 7 to 3.5. The best night so far has been an AHI of 2.89. I do have a condition that does not allow me to use the nasal pillows every night. My DME suggested a full face mask, and sold me a mirage quattro fx full face. When I use the Quattro though my AHI jumps to anywhere from 28 with the lowest being 11.48.
Anyone have thoughts on this or the same issue?

Re: Question about full face masks
My AHI and pressure are both higher with a full face mask than with the Swift FX pillows.
Of course, my leak rate is lowest with the pillows.
There may be other factors, but my Autoset works best for me.

Would you please add your equipment to your profile so we can easily see what you are using?
How is your leak rate with the full face mask? What is your pressure setting?

Re: Question about full face masks
Some of the experts on the binarysleep board are adamant that FFMs push the jaw back and make apnea worse, and that you need more pressure with a FFM.
This does make sense. Sometimes, they try to treat apnea by various means of moving your jaw forwards.
Maybe a boil and bite mouthguard would help.
