I toss and turn and sleep on both sides a lot during the night. I figure if the nasal pillow will stay in place with this new ear loop thing with my active sleeping style AND not cause ear pain it should work out pretty good. I do have a bit of an issue with that back strap on the Swift FX sliding upwards sometimes. Not a huge issue though and not enough to want to add sticky velcro to my hair. Most of my leaks are minimal and short lived so I don't worry about them.

Mainly I am excited to try something new. This stuff gets awful boring after a while. I know the newbies are probably rolling their eyes at me....I would be too if I was new and struggling with all this stuff. We tell newbies to "give it time" and "don't go changing a whole bunch of things" and here I go...changing something that works great to something unknown that could be a major disaster.

I figure what the heck...could be just the thing to make a great mask near perfect for me. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg to try so I am looking forward to a slight change in routine. Breaks up the boredom..I can only look at my reports so much and they just don't vary much except occasionally I have a fluke night where I get to laugh at myself or the large number of Pug dog snores that my machine reports that I have.

ems:
Since the top strap seems to make my hair very unhappy, (lots of breakage--right on top)
I might consider it just to get rid of that spiteful strap--or maybe wrap it in fabric.

As far as no one having it in stock, when I talked to my DME this morning, he said that whenever anyone comes out with a new mask, they are ALWAYS backordered right away. I think it's probably ResMed (and Respironics, I would guess) that put out all the "new" information before they have the items ready to ship. Just my hunch. But is sounded that way from what my DME said.

As for adding a back strap to the ear loops, to me it does not defeat the purpose, since it would help it to stay in place better. With a top and back strap (the way it is now), the straps have a tendency to move during the night. I think if the ear loops themselves do not hold the mask tight enough, it might be worth a strap across the back of my head to hold it in place. It would have less tendency to move, since it is hooked around my ears.

I'm really looking forward to it, but I won't get my hopes up that it will be really quick.

Just ordered online those new Bella loops since they aren't available from my DME and I don't qualify for them until April. My motivation is that the FX Swift headgear sticks to my hair, and depending on how fluffy my hair is that night, the sizing changes. From my experience, changing the sizing of the head straps, not tightening them enough, then I have leaks. When I tighten the straps too much, sore nostrils.

So we'll have more us to review this new product.

Well, I would love to try them, as I toss and turn too, but if I have to add to it, heck I'll wait for the snap on FX and go for the gages, HA

Yes, I just saw this listing a couple of minutes ago. I am going to call them in the AM to see if they have any in stock or if they are just taking pre-orders.
This is the same place that I got my heated hose from. The seller has a regular online cpap website in addition to the EBay account. I will call their regular website tomorrow during office hours.

I just purchased the ones off of Ebay. I find with the regular headpiece, that when I move around it also moves, slides, etc. Tightening it too much, makes it push too much on my nose and I start feeling like Wilbur the pig.
If I find that I do not like them, my thought is to pass them on to one of you to try and maybe we can just keep doing that until we find someone that can use them. As much as I hope that I like them, if I don't, they won't go to waste. $2 for postage is a lot better than $25.

I ordered the cheek pads (light blue fleece strap covers) and they seemed too large on my face so I may have ordered the wrongs ones?? SO, I put one of them on the strap that goes on top of the head and it really seems to protect my hair. Just a thought to share.

I called the supplier that has the Ebay offering..this morning. Nice chat. This is the same seller that I got my Hybernite 2300 from but they also have a website (Sleeprestfully.com) and you don't have to use Ebay to purchase the items they offer. It is an online DME similar to cpap.com but they offer the full DME type of stuff besides just cpap things. Apparently they also have a brick and mortar store because the guy talked about helping their customers get a low AHI and they feel everyone should have APAP to start with for best options. They actually monitor patients AHI and strive for less than 5.

ResMed just released the Bella Loops marketing information prior to actually shipping any of the product. Typical. He said they for sure expected a shipment Monday and would send me one on Monday immediately upon their shipment's arrival. They are in Houston, TX so it will get to me quicker than the other place (in Washington state) even if they also happen to get theirs on Monday. So I went ahead and ordered one from them also. I will leave the other order in place also. So probably will end up with 2 of them. No problem..I can either use it or have it for a spare or even sell it if someone wants it. Given that the silicone on the other Swift FX headgear really doesn't breakdown I probably don't need a spare unless the dog finds it and uses it for a chew toy.

The guy I talked to is a cpap user and uses the Swift FX and he is very excited about the Bella Loops. Even in Pink. He will be using it Monday night.

I expect that cpap.com will also likely get their shipment next week also. So far I only saw the whole mask setup offered at cpap.com but I just imagine that they will also very quickly have the Loop attachment offered separately so those of you who are waiting for reviews will likely see the attachment available from our hosts very soon.

Have no idea when brick and mortar DMEs will get the new product. If a large chain it has to filter through the purchasing department. If small mom and pop DME then it depends on when they order stuff and maybe they get lucky and ResMed rep drops off a few samples. Insurance coverage will depend on replacement schedule...it is really an optional form of headgear when sold separately which for me...headgear every 6 months. So if someone wants to use their own DME then you will need to check with them about availability and insurance coverage status on an individual basis.

My understanding of the ebay ad is it also comes "Packaged with optional Swift FX for Her headgear to offer two ways of wearing the mask, depending on patient’s style and comfort preferences , which is pretty cool for those who've not yet tried the regular Swift Fx for Her...you're sort of getting two masks for the price of one...at the very least, two options of how to wear it...sounds like an excellant buy to me!

The Ebay seller actually has 2 ads. One for the Loops and one for the Loops and the regular headgear.

Careful...this dual headgear package doesn't offer the short hose assembly that is needed. So anyone thinking of building your own Swift FX from EBay parts, we still need the short hose assembly (and some good deals can be found) as well as the nasal pillow.

The seller with the dual headgear package also offers just the Bella Loops all by itself. Around $27 and the dual headgear is around $41 I think I saw. Still a great deal. Add the short hose assembly and nasal pillows..maybe another $30 or $40 depending on seller price and still less than online and especially nice if someone doesn't have a RX or no insurance coverage.

I paid $26.95 on Ebay from the Seller in question and this is what is had on the description:
Swift™ FX Bella Loop Accessory for use with the Resmed Swift FX Nasal Pillow System **This is an optional headgear for the Swift FX** Replaces standard FX Headgear With a fit range customized for women, it also helps increase compliance with the following features: • Packaged with optional Swift FX for Her headgear to offer two ways of wearing the mask, depending on patient’s style and comfort preferences • Exclusive Bella loops accessory offers an additional style option for patients • Exceptional softness, simplicity and stability • Flexible, fluid form that follows facial contours and user movements **Can be used on the Swift FX Nasal Pillow System, Standard & For Her** UNI-SEX

They have copied the marketing information from ResMed packaging for the dual headgear.
They have made a mistake in their product information for the $26.95 product. You might send an email to confirm but I don't think they will send both....of course one can push it as stated description but the actual wording should state..."WHEN packaged with the optional ......." or they will have some unhappy buyers.
When I called them this morning they wanted me to be very clear on knowing that I was not getting the standard headgear with it.
