Blog Help Needed

Post by Janknitz » Mon Sep 19, 2011 12:13 am

I've decided to post a chart of data capable and non-data capable machines on my blog. You can see the entry here: http://wp.me/pTPiK-2h

I have information for ResMed S9's and Philips Respironics System Ones, but not for other brands of machines, particularly DeVilbiss Intellipaps and Fisher and Paykel Icons. If you have those machines, please send me the following info in a pm:

Full name of model.
Model Number
Type of data Available
Software needed to access (i.e. I know Intellipaps have SmartCodes--do they all?)

If you are reporting about an F&P Icon (or any other brand!) I particularly want to know if the software is readily available so you can access your data.

Thanks!

Hasn't Rested Girl already compiled that information in a post? Sorry I don't have a link to it but I'm sure someone else does. Why not save some effort and have your blog link to that post?

DeVilbiss:

Intellipap AutoAdjust Travel Cpap with SmartFlex / Model DV54D = Heated Humidifier, fully data capable via Smart Link software or most data via Smart Codes/web tool, SmartFlex with iRounding

Intellipap Standard Travel Cpap / Model DV51D = Heated Humidifier, no efficacy data

Intellipap Standard Plus CPAP Machine with SmartFlex / Model DV53D = Heated Humidifier, fully data capable via Smart Link software or Smart Codes/web tool, SmartFlex with iRounding

Firmware updates are free when upgrades to machine are available.

Thank you all for your help, I have updated the blog.

I didn't want to step on Rested Gal's very valuable toes, and in the blog I linked back to RG's thread for people that want more info or info on BiPAP's and ASV's.

I just wanted the basic info in a permanent place in my blog because not everyone comes to the blog via CPAPTalk.

I've had almost 14,000 hits on the blog! Amazing to me.

I'm glad Jan is putting comprehensive machine info, including what software they use, in her blog. It's a great blog -- very, very helpful!

Does the smart stick permit patients to access their own data--does anybody know? Or is it just a way to collect data but with additional software to read it???

One needs the software also. It is just a way to collect the data like our SD cards.

I thought that I heard someone did actually find software. Anyone? I'll be happy to update my blog when the software is readily available.

Still not readily available. What I found was for a 30 day trial version. PITA to install (worse than Encore Pro if that is possible). Unsure what would happen after the 30 days. From what I saw one needs an activation code from F & P to extend past the 30 days. Icon software is sold in Australia fairly commonly with RX from a doctor and I would assume comes with instructions on how to activate for permanent use.
Not sold readily in the US market. One US user that I know of was able to buy it with her doctor's RX.
Don't know where she bought it from though. Decent enough reports from what I saw.

So bottom line...F & P Icon software is still not easily obtained but I think that Jedimark is trying to see if he can get SleepyHead to work with the Icons and that would be a huge improvement but it isn't there yet.

Looks like Icons will remain on my not recommended list a little longer.

Too bad! Why don't manufacturers "get" that involved patients make repeat customers???

Because they market everything to the DMEs who they really consider as their "customer".
They don't really care about the end user.
They seem to not realize without us there would be zero need for their product.

I found InfoSmart easily by searching file share sites (just think a ship flying a jolly roger for a flag in an inlet). You then just have to go to https://software.fphcare.com/Registration and fill out the form and they give you an immediate activation code. I have been using the software with my Icon Auto for just over a month.

I chatted with my Dr about my results today and she said she would be nervous if some of her patients had the software... I guess they are afraid of the nervous type getting some of the info?? Then again my sister is a bit of a hypochondriac so I could see the worries.
