Probably a wise decision. These thing can settle down with some time...even the clear airway events.btown wrote:My next meeting with the Sleep Doctor is coming up in ~30 days. So I guess I wont tinker with my settings and see if the AHI stabilizes at some point.
Though you could safely tinker with the CFlex setting if you wish..won't hurt a thing and you might find that one of the other settings is actually more comfortable for you. I found that a setting of 3 seemed to make me want to breathe too fast..like I was hyperventilating and not giving me enough time to exhale.
A setting of 1...seemed just a bit too slow and a setting of 2 seemed to mimic my own respiration rate and was much easier to exhale with. It is more of a "rhythm" thing than a reduction in pressure which is not much. Of course the usual CPAP use sticker that affects us all..YMMV
Good luck to you. I will share this with you. If you continue to have trouble exhaling against those gale force winds of 20 cm...talk to your doctor about it. Changing to even a simple BiPap where exhale relief can be much more dramatic would likely feel hugely more comfortable to you. I am using a BiPap after using APAP for over 2 years and even with my much lower (than yours) pressure I find the exhale relief is so very nice.
