Where was your S9 born?

Curiosity thread...

I was chatting with someone over the past couple of days and we noticed that his S9 Elite was made in Singapore, and my S9 AutoSet was made in Australia. This information is disclosed on the back side of the machine on a white sticker with the serial number and reference number.

Are there Elites made in places other than Singapore? Where are the VPAPs and such made? If you had a machine from a new country, let us know.

S9 and H5I both from Australia. I would have never guessed Australia. China, Tiawan, or Japan maybe!!!

An Elite from Singapore here. I did have an Australian Autoset on loan at one time.

Your favourite mapping site will show you what must be the factory in the western suburbs of Sydney by putting in their address. Looks quite sizable and new judging by the landscaping:

Nice. And then they have the nerve to charge Australians 3 times the price to purchase one of their machines locally compared to the US. Disgraceful company.

Thats how it is here(USA) with prescription drugs. Other countries get them at a much lesser cost than do the people of the USA.

I was curious and looked at the bottom of both my S9 Elite and H5I humidifier. Both had the same stamp on the bottom of the molded (or extruded) case were marked as manufactured in Australia.

The back of each unit however does have a white sticker on it and the S9 Elite sticker said that it was made in Australia and the H5I said that it was made in Singapore.

I am not sure what difference that makes however as I am sure that the manufacturing process is quite good in each country. I was in Australia once back in the mid 70’s and don’t really recall much about it but I have also been in Singapore several times much more recently on church business and their manufacturing seems quite up-to-date.

And you can tell by the Serial Number exactly when your machine was manufactured.

The 1st four (4) numbers of the Serial Number are the week and year of manufacture.
The rest of the numbers of the Serial Number are used for product identification.

You can compare the date of manufacture to the date you purchased it to tell just how old it was before you bought it.

I would be interested to hear just how long a time span there was from the date of manufacture to the date you purchased it.

The 1st 2 digits of the Serial Number are not the week of manufacture.

Original S9 & H51 from AU.
Backup S9 is from Singapore.
They all get along though!
