I slept GREAT last night!

Post by NotSleepingBeauty » Thu Dec 29, 2011 2:09 pm

The size small headgear for my Mirage Quattro arrived yesterday. What a difference! It just goes to show that you have to stay on top of things and make sure you have the right size mask AND headgear.

I pretty much slept the whole night with a few awakenings to deal with some leaks. I am thinking of getting a pad-a-cheek anti leak strap. I experimented with pushing ever so lightly on the part of my mask that this would attach to, and it worked wonders. I just really don't like the idea of putting ANOTHER thing on my head at night.

Still I am getting adjusted ever so slowly. Thanks to everyone here and your great advice.

I don't know why but the masks I get always have medium headgear in the package with the XS mask. I had a small headgear only once and it fit much better, but the medium seems to work well enough.

I never had the opportunity to find out,
but I wonder if the folks at the DME could swap headgear before sale.
It wouldn't hurt to ask.
For what they charge, I would EXPECT that.
Cpap.com always has sealed packages, so I doubt they could.

They gave me a hassle about it believe it or not so I just started living with it even though it's way too big

If you can get the correct size headgear, it may make a big difference. Why they would put large headgear with a small mask is beyond me. The fit on the back of the head is so much better with the small headgear. I would think that the headgear would last longer than the mask, so it may be worth giving it a try. My DME switched it out for me no problem.

Medium headgear is standard, and I can't get Crapria to swap out for the small.

So I sewed the headgear to make it the right size by folding it in the center (horizontally). This works--looks hideous but it's at the back of my head and I am asleep within seconds after donning the mask, so I don't care.

Great idea to sew the headgear smaller. I guess I will consider myself one of the lucky ones who was able to get small headgear.
