My first Cold in 3 Years, FF Mask Sugg.

Post by red1 » Tue Dec 27, 2011 8:50 pm

This is the first bad cold I have had in 3 years. Sinuses really blocked.

I no nothing about full face masks. I would really appreciate suggestions on the most compliant full face mask on the market. I do know this is different for everyone. I would just like to get some idea, on the most commonly used one, so I have a place to start.

thank you in advance

You might want to look on Cpap.com for the Remzzz - less expensive than some, tends to fit more people than others, but really you need to try them all because no two people have the same face or bone structure, let alone size...

Yeah, I'm in the same position as Rick.

After so much effort training myself to "nose-breathe" I almost fear a ffm, and wonder if I can switch effortlessly between mouth breathing and nose breathing.

Resmed Mirage Quattro and Quattro FX, at least that's why my DME allowed me to both... They also sized me incorrectly twice, so maybe they're just more forgiving when incorrectly sized.

I certainly wish I had found myself a ff mask before now.

It certainly will not be effortlessly, but it will be most necessary. I certainly do not look forward to it, even though I know it is necessary, for all of us, to at least be able to use one, for times such as these. I don't think it would be good for me to go without the machine for 3 or 4 days, because I am unable to breath threw my nose.

I had become very compliant with cpap, using the Swift FX mask. Knowing the ff mask is only short term, during nasal issues, will help me with ff mask compliance.

Thanks for your thoughts rockin. Thank you for the suggestions, osmium sleeper & Julie.

I am very claustrophobic and I found the Quattro FX was the only one that would work for me. The way it straps doesn't make me feel as closed in as other Full Face masks do.

Try the Respcare/Innomed Hybrid it is considered a ffm as it has nasal pillows and a mouth piece...but it is so much less invasive than the other ffms. If you are used to nasal pillows then the hybrid would be a good choice ....way cheaper than the quattro too.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.
