Best Full Face mask, non-Resmed

Post by cpax » Tue Dec 20, 2011 3:13 pm

I'm am planning to get a full face mask. I tried the Resmed Mirage Quattro and quite liked. The problem is that it is ridiculously expensive to buy it here in Ontario Canada. CPAP.com say they can't ship Resmed to Canada. So any suggestions as to what a comparable model that WILL ship to Canada would be?

Hi, CPAX,

Have you tried a Canadian dealer like 1800CPAP.com? What's too much money? I know those masks are pricey (I pay 154 dollars American for my mask), but once you have the mask, it will last a good long time. After I bought my mask over a year ago, I have replaced the cushion once for 54 dollars. Once I figured out a cleaning system to maintain the cushion, it's going to be a while before I need to get another cushion.

If there's a Craigslist where you are at, you could check and see if a mask comes up, but that would require watching for a while. Doesn't your insurance cover your cpap supplies? How does that work in Canada?

Good luck. I

I had another idea-why don't you check Ebay Canada? I've seen stuff on there...

Or if we can get it here in the US cheaper, get one of us to buy it and ship it to you.

Try clinicalsleep.com They are based in Vancouver, BC and will fill a telephone order for a Resmed mask (and other types, too!). Free shipping in Canada, too. I've found that for masks and supplies (not xpap machines), they are very competitive with our host, cpap.com.

I've only purchased once from clinicalsleep. The shipping time was a little longer than I'd like (about 10 days), but I am happy with the experience and price that I paid.

We need more online suppliers in Canada. Competition is the ONLY way we'll ever get xpap equipment at fair and reasonable prices.

Of course, there's a lot of value in buying from a manufacturer who doesn't artificially prevent their patients from buying from outside of their country.

Yes, that is for sure. I wonder if this is an industry practice, because I had heard some things from people from Europe who couldn't buy their masks from their dmp when they were here in the states...weird.

If you want to know the price we pay here you need only to multiply by at least 2, and I say at least (some times 2.5). A FFM is around $300 + 17%Tx in Quebec. With those prices there is nothing interesting on our Craigslists.

We have the same problem with RESMED in Australia. I have found ebay to be the answer.
I buy stuff from US suppliers no problem.
