Thanks and Intro

Post by guffy2 » Tue Dec 13, 2011 9:08 pm

Hello everyone, just wanted to say thanks for all the great information, and advice. Wish I would have known about this resource 6 months ago. While in the hospital this past june with CHF & pulmonary hypertension. The sleep MD came in and explained what sleep apena ,was and told me he thought I had OSA (wife had been telling me for five years) and I should be tested, and what I could expect after CPAP therapy. Like feeling rested, having more energy,
and that it should help the pulmonary hypertension. So I had the sleep study, and started CPAP on Jul. 1 . Thankfully for me the results were remarkable, within a week it was like I was 20 years younger, rested, more energy , and my feet and ankles that were normaly purple
were now pink and warm. Until I found this forum I thought that what happen to me was commonplace. Now I just feel relly lucky and blessed. Will will be posting some questions later, but now again I would like to say thanks again.

Welcome to the forum.

I think you have chosen the wrong machine from the equipment drop down list. It happens all the time..You see Remstar Pro CFlex on the machine and don't notice the other terms. The machine you have chosen now has been discontinued since prior to the M Series machines which came out in 2007.
So in the machine drop down menu list...look for the "PR" group...then your machine is likely the PR System One Remstar Pro CPAP with CFlex.

Respironics calls every machine they have "Remstar this and Remstar that" highly confusing.

The PR (stand for Philips Respironics) System One Remstar Pro with CFlex is a full data machine and thus you have some software choices. Explained with some examples here. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=64906&st=0&sk=t&sd= ... re+options

Do you have the Clinical/provider manual for your machine? Not the user manual. The Clinical manual has more information and even some definitions to example terms seen in software reports.
Let me know if you need and want it and I will get you a link for it.

It's always good to hear the experience of other CPAP users. Interesting benefit there with the ankles - glad you shared that. It's encouraging to new users to read postive experiences. Welcome to the group!
