But are you sure that mouthbreathing will show in in average leak rate? Better to look at daily details and see what is going on throughout the night with leak. Large leak could be coming in clusters and would not be readily apparent when looking at averages.

Fvell My Intellepap reports my leak rate between 25 and 60 L/m with my Opus 360, with and average around 33 L/m this is at a pressure between 9.5 and 12 . I do tape so I know I don't have a lot mouth leaks. But you should look at your leak graph and exp. puffs to see if there is a link between the two and if there is any spiking in the leak rate. I do get a lot of exp. puffs reported but there does not seem to be a coloration except when my blue tape works loose.

Mouth breathing of any huge significance would likely show in the average. To make sure one needs to look at the graph line itself which is why I said what I said. Look at the leak line itself and not go by average. I always say to look at the graph line itself just to make sure.

From time to time I may wake up in the night with dry mouth and open mouth. It happens. But when I go look at the leak line report....nothing exciting is there at all anywhere in the night. Nothing anywhere even remotely close to a Large leak. So I have to think that the open mouth time was brief and short lived and won't impact the overall therapy. Now if I had this happen often and it was disturbing my sleep then it would of course be unwanted as anything that disturbs sleep is unwanted. As it is extremely rare I don't give it anything more than a shrug of my shoulders. I have a good example from last night. I will post it in my BiPap experiment thread in just a few minutes. I had a bit of dry mouth in the wee hours of the morning and woke once that I know of on my back with mouth open. Must not have been for long though...my leak line from last night is darn near perfect.
Give me a few minutes to upload the report and update my Experiment thread here.

Always, always whenever possible look at the leak line and not just the overall average of leak
or for that matter anything. Low AHI with clusters can be misleading also.

Emilia, I'll post one report summary here later, ok? I would love to see what you all think about it. Now I'm working, soon I'm going home so I can post it.

Thanks.

No. There is no way to attach files at this forum either on the forum posts or private messages.

If you are wanting to show us your report for comments you can use simple screen shots.
Here is how I do it.

Open the image to full size so it is easily read.
I use Vista snipping tool to create a screen shot and crop the image at the same time.
Prt/scr key will also take a screen shot if using XP. If laptop is used sometimes the Fn key has to be pushed at the same time as the prt/scr key
I think windows 7 Home Premium has the snipping tool, Basic may not.
Once the screen shot is created save it in jpg format.
Upload the image to a host site. I use Photobucket it is free, there are others.
Once the image is uploaded then copy the ENTIRE IMG address. Be sure to include the opening and closing IMG in brackets. Paste that copied address into a post here.
Use the preview button. If you can't see the image try again because if you can't see it we can't.

Great, Pugsy!

Thanks and sorry for taking so long to answer that, I was travelling. When I get home I'll follow your instructions to post the summary of my reports here.
