I'm regularly checking to see when an S10 will be released and got a hit today.

It seems that they're being made by Avon now.

Be guaranteed for 20 years have built-in nuke generator, so would be self powered anywhere. Be sold at hardware and drug stores without script. (OTC) Cost under $100.00. Packed with slips for a free mask of your choice every 3 month, with headgear. As long as you are wishing, pull out the stops. Jim

WiFi or bluetooth data transfer would be nice. Display lights that turn off, I currently put a book over my machine to block the light.
Cheers,

Mick.

Put a 90 degree swivel on the back of it. I can't think of any configuration that would need the hose coming straight out the back.

In my not so humble estimation PR has come out w/the best hose position of all to date: the swivel on top of the humidifier. I have to say I LOVE that feature!!!

As much as I love my Resmeds, the hose coming off the back of the S9s was and is a rather "duh" idea. DUH!

My biggest wish list feature would be Ease of Use. There are too many screens and button-pushes to easily navigate and make changes for many non-tech savvy users. Make it simple to use, like the Respironics System One.
My second biggest want would be to dial down the look of it. ResMed tried to go flashy with the S9 and I think it came off as looking cheap instead.

there are a ton of great ideas here
I just talked to a friend of mine, a 675 Lbs guy last I heard, and seeing him now looks like he is still all of that and then some. he was diagnosed with severe apnea, gave a brick and put on some setting, it was our local IRS guys, I know from first hand experience they HATE going over 12 CmH2o and with his size and weight I would say he need more just to help over come the weight of fat around his chest. he gave up and returned the machine, said he felt like he was suffocating, he thought the cmH2o setting was around 6, well at that level I feel like I am suffocating as well.

I am big but nothing like him, I am around 350 Lbs.

with the study that was done saying high end machines do not make better clients, I would totally disagree, the sleep pros discourage anyone from playing with their machine settings and they want to dumb down any high end machine they see, I know from first hand experience. they seem to feel threatened by smart machines and clients knowing the magic button entry codes to the inner parts of the machine, they seem to think that is their playground and they are not wanting to share. my friend would have been more into it if he could have set the pressure to what feels good for him. I have another friend I am still bugging to get in and get tested.

also yes to base machine that is a VPAP or similar and maybe go up from there. no more simple bricks that are sold as top end units like the locals wanted to sell me. the other local place does not stock anything below a APAP, witch is nice but price is way to high.

love all the ideas, some are done in jest, most will not be done as the end user is not the ones the manufactures sell to or cater to. it is the health care guys that they have to satisfy. also I would highly doubt if any of the personal from any machine manufacture would be here other then if they were a user of a CPAP machine, even then I would doubt they would show as they already know all there is to know about the subject and have tons of heath pros on staff to ask.

I would say we are totally on our own, that was why I was saying we need our own open source unit, print it yourself and put in the inner workings, it is tons easier then you may think.
