Which mask is more stable - Swift Lt or Swift FX?

Post by Paula J » Sat Nov 12, 2011 1:42 pm

Just curious to see what the consensus is on this question - I have the Swift FX and am thinking about buying the Swift Lt. I have problems with the pillows staying sealed to my nose with the FX and just wondered if the Lt is any better. Thanks for any info!

I would say yes but rather than type all the reasons why....

While lying still on my back, I prefer the Swift FX. However, I don't sleep lying still on my back. Whenever I rolled over, the FX would leak and require an adjustment. The LT doesn't have that problem as much, but there are other issues. The face straps left indentations which I resolved with padacheek sleeves.

So I am happier with LT.

Hi,

This is just a personal preference, but I really prefer the fx. I find my face or nose is not sore after using it. I also find it does not leak as much as the Swift Lt did for me. Maybe thats just me. I do like them both, but I find I just sleep better with the Swift FX. I also find that it stays put, when I move from one side to the next. I found with the Swift Lt, I was waking a lot, but not with the FX. I do not get the marks on my face from the silicone, others do. If the swift FX was not around, I would take the Swift Lt as a second choice.

It is really important to remember that a mask is very personal. What I may like, may not work for you.

I think there are so many days where you are allowed to return a mask. Try them both & decide what works best for you.

After using the fx for 1 1/2 years and talking with my DME about my concerns of it slipping in the back and not sealing, she gave me the lt, and I love it. It's very stable and I like the clip on top. But it's a very personal thing, and you should use the one you like the best.

I am a side stomach sleeper and I love my Swift LT for her. My other mask is Golife for her. The Swift LT is still my first choice.

I have both masks and find the FX a little more comfortable, however the LT is a bit firmer and therefore more stable IMHO. I interchange the two masks, but actually prefer the LT and it suits my side/stomach sleeping style, rarely waking me with leaks.

Cheers,

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like I will get the Swift Lt and give it a try!

For me, the LT the is more stable of the two, although with the LT I still was awakened with the need to adjust it. I am now using Resmed Mirage fx nasal mask. I experience far fewer leaks, it is very stable and gas a nice slim profile. The forehead piece is so minimal I am not really aware it is there. Ymmv
