Ordering a New Mask.
Ordering a New Mask.
I have the full face mask and need it due to mouth breathing. But this one leaks way too much.. So I called my DME and my respiratory therapist is supposed to call me by tomorrow.. I noticed one that I think may work for me had nasal pillows along with the mouth mask. Think the name was liberty something with pillows, I have it written down somewhere.. That is my next mask to try, still under the 30 day trial so no cost to me. Yay!
Re: Ordering a New Mask.
There are two such 'hybrid' masks - the Resmed Mirage Liberty and Innomed Hybrid. Both have a mouth piece and nasal pillows. I have a Liberty and tried a Hybrid for a week.
Both were about the same, but the Liberty had a little more comfort and less leaks - for ME. What I like about the Hybrid is it has a chin piece that holds the mask in place more, but it also helps to keep your mouth closed.
I don't have an issue with mouthbreathing, but my mouth does drop open, so therapy is wasted unless I use a chinstrap.
Cheers,
xena

Re: Ordering a New Mask.
Liberty is the one that I have spotted that looks like it just might work for me. I need the air to go up my nose but I also need my mouth covered so it does not escape through my mouth! I like the idea of that chin piece to hold it in place also it gives the appearance that it won't start moving around if I lay on my side.
