OT-Denver area 1st Snow-storm of season

Post by Roger2 » Tue Oct 25, 2011 10:25 pm

We are having our first snow storm of the winter season in the Denver area as I type this note. The local meteorological prognosticators are calling for snow tonight and tomorrow bringing the total snowfall between 6 and 12 inches. The temperatures are going down to 27 tonight and 18 tomorrow night. So much for any more tomatoes here this year. That should make the skiers and snow-boarders happy. My son in currently waxing his snow-board hoping to get into the high country by the weekend although I don't think the snow quality will be that great.

Just looked out the window Roger, it is absolutely gorgeous outside with the snow falling. We've had a very mild and beautiful fall, we knew sooner or later this would finally get here.
Thinking of quitting CPAP?

No problem, here's the first thing to do when you quit:

Advanced funeral planning. When you give up CPAP, you'll probably need it.

Just went to take the trash out, already snow accumulating on the ground. I live off of Mississippi and Leetsdale, will be a great drive into work tomorrow. Yay.

I'm supposed to fly into Denver tomorrow (Thursday), so I'm watching your weather. Am I correct in thinking that since Denver knows how to deal with this kind of stuff it won't likely be a problem unless the prediction is way too low for snowfall?

Oh, rats.
It's headed our way.
Folks in Lincoln have enough trouble driving when the street is clear--no Einsteins, if you get my drift.
Half the streets in town are closed due to construction; the rest don't lead where you wanna go.
Phooey!

6+ inches makes for rugh driving but not enough to keep me from going to work. At least it hasn't yet.

I am not ready for snow quite yet so you kan keep it in Denver at least untell the first weekend in November, that is when Deer hunting season opens here.

I wanted to post a photo of our deck - so easy to do on Blogger, so hard to do here. We have about 12-14 inches standing straight up on our deck railing and it's still coming down. A beautiful day in Estes Park!

I would love to see a photo of all that snow.
It is quite easy to upload a photo here. What you do is up load a photo to a photo sharing site like PhotoBucket or Tiny Pic (which is what I use), there will be a set of links you can copy for various things, copy the link for message board, then past that link in your message.

Here is a picture I took in Texas a coupple of years ago when I was hog hunting.

I love Estes Park!!! I was staying in one of the condo's behind the Stanley Hotel a year ago, we were sitting in the hottub surrounded by Elk and it started snowing. One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen, it was awe inspiring!

I'm going make a quick hi-jack to invite Colorado folks to our next meeting Sat Nov 19, 10 AM.

You may now return to shoveling this wet heavy snow.

Here in Gunnison, CO, I am watching HUGE snowflakes fall outside my office window. They are starting to stick. We had mostly rain before this, despite being at 7700 feet. Go figure! Now I am going to get on cotrip.org and look at the cameras around the state.

Enjoy, Denver, your first snowfall of the season is a bit later in October than it sometimes is!

I'm trying to post my photo or at least a link.

http://s1094.photobucket.com/albums/i452/teknomom/

How do I get the actual photo to show up?

FAQ says: To display the image use the BBCode [img] tag. What does that mean?
