Good evening,
I had been wondering recently if my 2 year old machine was operating at full capacity (ie, to the prescribed pressure) so I purchased a manometer and, as it happens, the machine is not quite at the pressure it says it is. I have the Respironics Remstar Auto M Series with A flex. I have access to the provider instructions, but they say nothing about calibration or fine tuning (I don't mean changing my pressure, I just want the pressure output to be equal to what the machine says it is).
Thanks for any and all help--much appreciated.
Calibration of APAP machine
Re: Calibration of APAP machine
The odds are the manometer you bought is what's not correct, a "U" Tube is the best way to check the pressure, the specs are +/_ .5 cm Water Pressure.
Most units are not user adjustable, period. If your XPAP stores useful data, use the software to set your pressure to the best pressure for your treatment, the number isn't what matters, results are. Jim

Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!

Re: Calibration of APAP machine
I have the program to do the calibnration but it requires a flow meter (which I have not been able to find) a adjustable valve and another machine to provide a negative flow. I tried it on a machine that had a bad flow sensor. Take my word for it you don't want to try it once you start you can't go back. If you have a good accerate, perferable a water manometer just change the number on the screen until the manometer reads correctly or let the auto pick the best pressure.

Re: Calibration of APAP machine
I wouls ask the DME to check the machine. If you just want to compensate a change in pressure may be the simple option.

What did the manometer read, and what did the CPAP say?jvanhoos wrote:Good evening,
