Finally Under 5.!
Finally Under 5.!
After a couple months on my ASV with AHI numbers ranging from 10-16 woke up this morning and AHI was a 4 !! For me that is fantastic! Still trying to figure out exactly why but the only thing I changed was a new style pillow, that maybe keeps my airways open more. Still experimenting with that part of it, but for today I'm pretty happy and actually didn't wake up with a headache for a change! Here is my screen shot that I should probably print and frame..

Okay... what kind of pillow did you used to use and what did you get? Just curious. This is excellent news and hopefully you can repeat the results again tonight.

Re: Finally Under 5.!
Thanks! I used to just use a couple regular pillows. However I noticed it would really push my chin forward, and having the mask strapped down pretty tight also seem to push my jaw back even further. Then I thought this can't be all that good for airflow. So was at Costco over the weekend and they had this memory foam pillow for $20.00 I was just going to try it for side sleeping with the Mask, but last night tried it just on my back. It seems to work pretty well, however my new and improved numbers just may be a fluke and have nothing to do with the pillow, but I will find out soon enough. Here's a link it's the Memory Foam Contour Pillow, if nothing else it's pretty comfortable. http://www.sleepinnovations.com/Pillows.html#contour

Re: Finally Under 5.!
Congrats Kody!
My money is on the pillow. I use the same pillow. I found it a couple years ago (long before I was diagnosed with OSA) and now I won't go anywhere without it. Vacation, camping, doesn't matter. I feel like I can breathe SO much better using this pillow. Obviously it didn't cure my OSA, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it significantly helps with it.
I hope your great numbers continue!

GREAT news! I know how thrilled I was when I saw the numbers start to dip into the "normal" range. Don't stop now!
