Infineeer Card Reader

Post by ranman » Mon Sep 12, 2011 10:37 pm

Does any one know if there is a driver available for the Mako Infineer card reader that will allow it to work on a Windows 7 64 bit laptop running Home Premium Edition?

That's exactly what I have: Win 7 64 bit Home Premium, with the Infineer Mako DT3500 smart card reader with USB. Works fine; so, yes, there is a driver available.

I honestly don't remember whether I had to load a seperate driver. I think Windows did it automatically the first time I plugged it in. Looking at the hardware profile, there appears to be a Mako driver provided by Microsoft in place.

Are you having trouble with the Infineer Mako or just shopping for something that will work?

If you will just let windows search online it will find the correct driver.

Ranman... if you go into Device Manager, do you see the card reader? If so, does it have a Yellow or Red Icon next to it?

One thought is you may have the card reader installed, but you have two drives fighting for the same drive letter. If you can confirm the above that would help.

I have not purchased the computer yet. I currently have an older computer running Windows XP. I am investigating to determine which of my current hardware and software programs will not be compatible with Windows 7 Home Premium. I have the correct software needed for the install but am not sure about ther reader software.

The most recent updated drivers that I could see for the reader were for Vista 64 bit. Not sure if these would work or not.

For anyone wanting to ...or maybe needing to..update the DT3500 driver..
here is website with all the choices for OS and 32 & 64 bit computers.
http://www.ais-magnetic.com/e/download_ ... p?id=23390

When I installed Pro 2.4 last winter on 32 bit Vista computer Pro worked fine with the DT3500 for a couple of days then it gave me messages about not being able to find the card reader.. so I went to the website and got a driver update and it fixed my problem. Pro comes with card reader driver stuff but it may be old.

I have not had a chance to use the DT3500 with my new 64 bit Win 7 computer.

Wow! great timing, Pugsy!
For some reason my Mako Cardreader wasn't working today, but I saw your link and downloaded the drivers (again) and now everything is working great.
Thank You!

(do you have ESP? )

I do have a voodoo doll.
You are welcome. Glad to have some good timing for a change.

ESP? Long story but I have dreamed some very unique dreams that have come true. Thankfully not often as they have all been about death. Though I did dream that I won the Powerball. I clearly see 5 numbers but the 6th eludes me.
