Cheapest CPAP masks

Post by FeelingBetter » Wed Sep 07, 2011 8:15 am

Where would I find the lowest price on CPAP masks? Insurance will reimburse me minus 25%, but I have to put the money out initially.

FeelingBetter, I think you just have to shop around. Are you going to buy on line? Our sponsor often has sales on masks (cpap.com).

Buying the cheapest mask is like buying the cheapest mattress. It will look good with the bed made but deliver a poor nights sleep.

Once you find the mask regardless of cost that works for you then you can shop around but I would not recommend it for trying masks.

I currently use an Aclaim2 which I love but I have also used a Swift LT for her nasal pillows. I can't use the nasal pillows for more than 3 nights or I'm super congested and dizzy. I wanted to get a Swift to have for nights when it is really hot and my nasal mask is bugging me BUT my big issue is that I need a full face for back-up as my nose was so congested last night I kept opening my mouth and if I have the chinstrap on when I'm congested I start to panic. I've thought about trying the F&P FlexFit (I think is the name) since it comes with all three cushion sizes or maybe it was a different brand that was the full face that can be used with several sizes. Anyway, last night was miserable due to the head congestion.

Look up the Respcare/Innomed Hybrid, comes with 3 sizes of pillows and 3 sizes of mouth cushion. Its considered a full face mask but is less invasive than others. I can put on my glasses and read if I want, there is nothing near my eyes or the bridge of my nose. I got stuffed up when i used pillows only (swift LT & optilife) but I find I can use the hybrid (6 months now) as it sort of diffuses the air as it goes into the pillows and into the mouth piece.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.
