I think my ears were put on too high

Post by mrnetwurm » Wed Aug 31, 2011 7:39 am

I've been using the Swift LT for a few weeks now and the straps are digging into my ear. As seen in the pic, there is no
adjustment for this. The manequin head has ears that are a bit lower than mine, so not much trouble in the pic. It appears
that my ears were simply placed too high on my head and interfere with the strap. My solution (last night) (in a moment of brilliance)
was to put the strap over the side of my ears instead of over the top. Seemed to work pretty well.

This mask, that I found on Cpap.com has the same design, but higher straps that should clear my ears. Maybe my DME can
get this one ? Bravo II

I use the Swift Lt and found that the strap resting higher on my head is comfortable. Once the pressure is up you don't need any tinsion on the straps to hold the mask in place. Just try moving the straps up your head a little and reduce the tension to see if that works.

Same mask - same issue

The strap was rubbing my ear/head juncture so I also just put the straps over the tops of my ears. Seems to work fine.

The Opus 360 mask was also pointed out as a good altenative. I'll probably try it when I get a new mask.

Also same mask/same issue.

I just jiggled with the mask and adjusted the straps so it sits higher over my ears.

I don't think our ears are too high, it's the manniquin's are too low

Cheers,
xena

Although I have a different mask i have the same problem. I think though that the strap is to big for my head, I wonder if they have smaller straps.

If you tighten the top strap it will raise the back strap higher on your head above your ears.
