level setting question.
Hi
Im still new here more reading than posting.
MY question is can the more experienced people here tell by the info on my memory card
if my level is set too low. Im currently at 10
I have not gone for a follow up sleep study since getting my cpap machine and my doc originally
advised to have it set at 10. Im wondering if its high enough.
I will make time for the follow up but have not as yet.. Been on the cpap for approx 6 months.
I will post the info if it can be done.
Thanks.

Re: level setting question.
There is data available on the LED machine as well as software to see if everything seems to be optimal or what may need improvement. If you post your report here someone can offer ideas about it.
Software tutorial to show you what is available.

Re: level setting question.
Thunderhand, you need to post your AHI for us to be of any help to you. Leak would also be helpful. Perhaps the most important thing is how you feel. If you cannot get a follow up appointment soon you can usually mail your data card to your DME who will send a report to the doctor. If the doctor's office has the capability of reading the card that's another solution. If you do not know how to read your data tell us and someone will probably PM you with the information. Include the exact model of your machine- it's hard to tell from the picture. Pressure needed has no correlation with the severity of your sleep apnea. My pressure is nine.
Good luck
Good luck

Re: level setting question.
This report above is just a summary. Overall summary of hours of use, pressure and leaks (which BTW looks like needs some work on). The AHI summary is so small can't make it out.. which may mean it is good.
The one that best shows what happened last night (or any night) is the one with all the graphs and lines but from a single night of data. Shows the hours through the night. I don't use your machine so I don't have and example but it will have leak line itself, AHI, pressure, flow...

Re: level setting question.
I would look at the leak on the detailed tab for the last week. Your 95% (95% of time the leak rate is lower than this) is awfully close to the red line - ResMed says leaks above that line will impact therapy pressure. The detailed data will let you see leaks look like throughout the night. Even with the summary graph I would be concerned that leaks might be reducing the effectiveness of the machine.

Re: level setting question.
If you use Vista or Windows 7 there should be Snipping Tool available in Accessories show you can crop and get screen shot at the same time.
If using XP you can use Paint to crop and hopefully get the size appropriate.
Sometimes with ResMed reports it takes 2 screen shots to get all info and have them cropped. If you cannot get suitable image send me a private message and we can exchange private email addresses. Then you can send the whole thing to me as attachment and I can then use my Snipping tool to crop and host the image for you. I didn't notice who you use but I use photobucket and with the way I do images haven't had any problem with reduction in size.

Re: level setting question.
Are you downloading detailed data? If not, click on the select button to the right of the data box on the download from machine screen and select how many days of detailed data you want to download, I leave this set to 1 when I am downloading daily.thunderhand wrote:i save a snagit shot of it full screen and any image hosting i use re sizes it to much smaller.

Once you have downloaded detailed data, click on the detailed graphics tab and click on the button to load detailed data for the selected day. The detailed data includes the leak graph, with your leak summary data I would look at the leak details.

Re: level setting question.
Your AHI is pretty good. Looks like it's mostly hypopnea. There may be room for improvement, but it's hard to tell without seeing the detailed data. Can you a night or two of that? Is your machine even logging it?

Re: level setting question.
Unless you formatted the card, you should still be able to download detailed data from previous nights. You are looking for data that looks like this...thunderhand wrote:i believe the machine is gathering it..

Re: level setting question.
still saving up data for a couple more days..
i have been reading as much as i can here, soo much info
I have another question, can i trust my machine to find the "right pressure" for me,
A lot of the posts have mentioned min and max pressure, and a few vids on youtube also stated my machine has this ability.
I worry that this is something left to the DR. or sleep study tech's to monitor. I don't want to just pick a higher number and see if its ok (at 10 now )
I understand this my have a bearing on the results i will post in a few days.. but i still find my self waking up at least 3 times through
the nite.
im thinking maybe try 12 see if there is a difference, ??
