I use a cervical collar to keep my chin from dropping open.

Forgot to say I have a Respironics Premium chin strap but have trouble keeping in place all night. Find myself readjusting several times as it slides on my head.

I like the "Ultimate Chin Strap" because it helps me keep from mouth breathing. You'll have to Google for it. I use one of the auxiliary straps from a previous "ribbon around the egg" style chin straps to stabilize it by velcroing on either side and around the back.

Hi! I, too, use the Respironics Premium chinstrap. I have had trouble with it slipping, and so I am going to do the velcro fix, which I learned here and which helped me immensely with the headgear of the Swift FX (although I am now using the Comfort Gel nasal mask). You sew a piece of the rougher side of velcro to the under side of the strap that slips. I keep meaning to do this with the chinstrap, but have not yet done so. It sort of grabs the hair and does not allow as much slippage, but it does not pull the hair. I have very slick, straight, slippery hair, just the sort that needs this sort of aid.

Good luck!
Jilliansue

Is the Ultimate Chin Strap the Hannibal Lechter looking one?

.

Thanks Jilliansue. I think I can try that. Sounds simple enough. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.

I use the Ruby. Haven't had any problems at all with it slipping around. The chin part cups your chin more than the Respironics Premium. It helps keep my lips, as well as my jaw, closed. It does pull your jaw backward just a little bit, though, which could affect your AHI or pressure needs. I currently have the non-adjustable one, but I want to get the adjustable one to see if it helps with that issue, and also to see if I can drop the straps under my ears down just a bit.

Thanks.
Bless my pointy little head...I had a better night last night. Put the strapon tighter. made sure that it was in the tightest spot...cleaned my mask and made sure everything was ship-shape.

Good nights and bad ones...devil's in the details.

Best,

The absolutely best chin strap on the market is THE ULTIMATE CHIN STRAP FOR SLEEP APNEA (AND ONE FOR SNORING TOO!). I found that this is the only one on the market that works. I have tried many from very expensive to ridiculously cheap...no luck. This one is designed to keep mouth shut while at same time opening air passages...check out their website: ultimatechinstrap.com..let me know what you think...I cannot say enough of this product....Mary

I secure chin strap on the top of my head with a hair clip.
